Vistar7 Transformation Pack makes Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04 looks and in some
areas works like Windows 7.
This transformation pack is for private use only! It was made purely for
educational purposes. It's a proof of concept, showing how flexible is KDE4
and that Windows7 interface is really similar to KDE4.
It is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY USE because it comes with absolutely
no support, updates, fixes etc.
You are on your own with all problems concerning this transformation pack.
Tested on fresh Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04.
It was nice to work on this pack, but I believe that original KDE4 is better

Mirror: http://www.cammckenzie.com/blog/vistar7-transformation-pack-for-kde-4x/ With updated install script, because the old one sucked!
Please give a direct download link ...
Помогите понять. Как его установить на Kubuntu 11.04? С чего лучше начать? Скрипт пытается установить устаревшие пакеты. В итоге, тема не полностью устанавливается. Google: Help to understand. How to install it on Kubuntu 11.04? Should I start? The script is trying to obsolete packages. As a result, graphics are not fully established.
dosnt even download, i mean wth.
Only available for torrent download? Would it bug you if I made it available for millions of people and excluded you because I prefer a download method you can't use?
It works fine in LinuxMint 8 KDE. Felicitaciones, muy bonito tema. Excelente trabajo. Saludos.
Where is the Vistar7 color scheme
I have re-written part of the INSTALL Script and UPLOADED the whole package to my website for download. Thanks Cam http://www.234.co.nz/?p=112
How do you uninstall it on a ubuntu 9.10. It doesn't works on ubuntu 9.10. Rings
I gotta vote this one down. 1. There should be NO REASON, none whatsoever, for a new user to be created for a simple KDE themepack. Fix this now. 2. Not everyone is in a Debian/Ubuntu centric world. Leave those parts out of your install script PLEASE. 3. Actually, better yet: Leave out the stupid install script altogether. And instead, make a simple archive filled with all the KDE themes/schemes compatible with the actual settings managers. Loads less trouble for everyone that way. Change your readme into an informative HOWTO on how to apply these themes and settings. 4. I don't know about the rest of the commentors but I'm very iffie about you copying copyrighted proprietary material for this themepack. 5. Is there a QtCurve theme for this somewhere to actually get window widgets looking like Win7? I couldn't find it in any of those archives. 6. That deKorator theme is not very faithful. I ended up switching to a different one. 7. Torrents are a very lame way to distribute your content. I can't speak for the rest of Freedesktop, but I sure as heck don't like torrents. Find a host for your files. 8. Seriously. Creating a whole new user for the theme pack? What the heck are you thinking? Sadly I can find no other Win7-style themes to try, otherwise I'd gladly pass this broken one up.
It doesnt work on my 9.10 machine so I looked for a uninstall skript but there wasnt any skript. So I have to do all this manually. Maybe a uninstall skript will be useful for other users...
I installed vistar7 on Kubuntu 9.10 and when I log into vistar7, I get a black screen after the initial splash screen. All seems to be installed, vistar7 theme is chosen (and used on my actual account) sounds, mouse icons are being used, but the screen itself is blank. I do have a prompt that will occur if I do a switch user choice, and that prompt is correctly decorated with the vistar7 theme and icon, which really looks nice as well. But..lol..nothing but a black screen. I realize that Kubuntu was not the intended OS focus but I kind of had hoped that there may be a possibility it would of worked. Is there any way of letting us know of what packages were all used so we can kind of piece it together on our machines? Thanks in advance!
how to change the double click into single click
First off this is a great theme, thanks. But the grouped tasks do not expand like in your screen shot. How do I get it to expand with preview. It will show preview when its not in a group.
Also, If you want to merge this theme with your account = http://pastebin.com/f5e271ec4 save and use this ./install script isntead of the standard one. It is not supported by the creator or me. But this worked flawless on my laptop. Best Regards Commander/Galactica
I have Installed the theme. But when I logged in vistar7 the theme doesn't changed. Please tell me the way how to apply the theme. I want the Window appreance the most. Thanks.
Try to check the themes for your Kubuntu and if the Vistar is selected.
Before installing something like this, I strongly recommend backing up your KDE configuration with this command: cd && cp -R .kde .kde-backup (I can't remember if Kubuntu saves to .kde or .kde4 by default...)
@deathvalley: u need to be in the directory of the vistar... and run the command!
