Description:

Splash Screen Engine for KDE
Heavily customizable engine for various types of themes

NEWS:
Thats it: I'll not continue writing code for this. I thought I would migrate it to KDE4, but i have to say that KDE4 isn't what i've expected.

Its not intuitive as it should be, ... but thats another topic :) currently i'm searching for a new desktop environment.

Independently I'will thank all people supporting this project in any way!!!

FEATURES:
- Scale cache

I have the same problem as one of the previous posters. When I log in I see the theme initially but then the background turns white, I can still see the icons but they are frozen. Then the desktop comes up with no other problems.

Sometimes I only see a small blue box in the middle of the screen with the text underneath it 'loading window manager' etc.

For me this seems to be associated with the starting of compiz-fusion. I haven't managed to find a solution anywhere.

Hi There seem to be a mirror for the file at:

http://mirrors.ludost.net/gentoo/distfiles/ksplash-engine-moodin_0.4.2.tar.gz

Hope you get your site back Moodrod. Moodin is a really nice piece of work.

The moodin plugin is great! I was easily able to install moodin to my newest debian laptop using:

"apt-get install ksplash-engine-moodin"

however, i'm not sure what version it installs. How can I check?

After installing Moodin, when I set a non-Moodin theme, it just shows a blue block that fills up and then logs in, no matter which theme I choose. This happens still after I deinstall Moodin.

Even worse, when I choose a Moodin theme, it always uses the same theme (which is not even in the list).

Any ideas how to fix this?

I have always loved moodin. But I have also always thought that flashing icons on a splash were kind of tacky.

What are the chances of adding the ability to do a progress bar or a small animation into the functionality?

What do other moodin users think?

Thanks!

I haven't been able to download this for a few days. Looks like http://moodwrod.com is not around anymore?

Is there anywhere else that the moodin engine can be downloaded from?

hello, I'm fairly new to linux and every time I go to install the app I get through the ./configure and I try to do make and I get errors, then I try to do make install and I'm not getting anywhere, can someone please help?

I would post the error messages but I think it would be too long.

if you switched to package-based system, you wouldn't have to ./configure & make install anything, just download compiled package files (.rpm) and install them

i think it's easier that way if you are new to linux.

moodwrod, hi

yesterday I installed moodin successfully and everything seemed to work find. I can test the themes in kcontrol and they seem to work fine (except from the little redraw problem when exiting testing mode).

After rebooting the splashscreen doesn´t show up correctly. The background image doesn´t show up (white background) and the icons don´t redraw correctly. This seems to be a problem with Xgl.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

lizzard

in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
