I like this as a dock, but I won't use it until the reflections get fixed. They reflect past the edge of the dock on a non-existent surface and it just looks silly.

Didn't notice it, as I keep Daisy at the bottom of my screen most of the time. Will look into this, seems to be an easy fix.

That would be fantastic. Any progress on this? Sorry, I don't check my KDE-Look account often... Is the source available? If it's a C-derivative I could look at it and mess around with it...

Is there an easy way to re-arrange my launchers? I have "Allow drag and drop of objects" checked but when I try to drag a launcher to re-arrange it, it just opens the application as if I did a normal click. Currently the only way I see to re-arrange launchers is to edit each individual launcher.

Report

The only way I'm aware of is to edit ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc. Inside this file are the launchers specifications. Just cut and paste the lines to rearrange.

I was coding this option when something in the IconWidget from Plasma got changed. Now instead of the clicked signal, Daisy is forced to use the pressed signal, which makes it impossible to add the option of rearranging icons.

It's an excellent dock, but, like other kde panels, it don't have a great intellihide function (hide dock when a windows is maximized)

Currently that's one of the features that Daisy is lacking. It is limited due to being a simple widget. After the re-write it will be possible to add that and other options.

Possible to handle grouping with taskmanager plasmoid?

Hi Lechio,

Thanks for keeping things moving.

Just curious - how's the work with custom container going? This is the main thing stopping me from using the plasmoid - I want to get rid of all other panels and still can't...
Would be very great to have possibility to add system tray to daisy.

Thanks a lot

Thanks also for the my update of the italian language that you have added.
It's possible add at the media controller the vlc support?
I wait the next version :-P

Hi mate. Thank YOU for making the translation. Support for VLC is now added. Took some bash workarounds due to missing options in the player's D-Bus interface but everything works, except toggling the player's window.

Hi, thanks for the plasmoid - it's lovely!

However I get a consistent crash when starting Amarok with daisy as a linear dock.
A quick web search proved that other people have experienced that too.

Didn't find more appropriate way to submit the report, so here's a backlog of the crash:

Currently the number of launchers from the circular dock cannot be changed, what can be done is add an action launcher to the launcher itself. Right-click on the launcher to edit and activate its action launcher.

Hi. The libraries needed are named in Ubuntu/Debian: "kdebase-workspace-dev", "kdelibs5-dev". The are additional tools need, like CMake and GCC. Install those and it should compile without a problem.

When I use daisy 0.0.4.23 on lucid on my 1280x800 display which is full of other widgets all other widgets on the desktop are moving up on the desktop. When I remove daisy before I leave KDE they go back to their normal position.

It only happens on activities which don't have enough free space left for the round daisy. But there is enough space for a daisy sidebar. Nonetheless my layout breaks, the other widgets don't move to normal position after I changed daisy's layout to sidebar. And after a re-login the layout of the widgets is even more muddled, widgets now partly overlap each other and they don't have the same alignment from the top of the screen anymore. I have to remove daisy and reposition the widgets manually.

Screenshot before the use of daisy:
http://www.fotos-hochladen.net/20100710beforeusbnazkfj0.jpg
Screenshot after the use of daisy:

How can avoid that?

You could stick some of those on the Dashboard. I have all my widgets (save for an analog clock) hidden on the dashboard: under System Settings->Workspace Appearance->Workspace, switch the Dashboard setting to "Show and independent widget set;" apply the changes, then press ctrl+F12 to pull up the dashboard. After adding the plasmoids you want, those widgets will appear only on the dashboard, rather than cluttering your desktop.

NOTE: I'm using KDE 4.5; the System Settings layout is different in older versions.

Thanks for the tip, indeed I do use a seperate dashboard for widgets I want to have available independent from the desktop I'm on.

But I don't get what this has to do with that peculiar behaviour that daisy seems to reserve space for the round widget (though the bar is used) and seems to push other widgets aside though the place is not needed?

Is there a way to auto-hide the dock and then when "ask" the dock to show it shows covering windows?
Like I have a maximized window, then I want to see Daisy.
