I don't want to sound rude or anything, but... no

If you want it, just make it, creating plasma themes is a breeze.

no problem, that was just my proposition. It really looks nice (win7 panel), and as you propably niticed on the screenshot i done my own like the win7 one.

Report

I wouldn't say that it looks at all like win7's one - the only similarity I see is the top border. You don't have the vertical stripes, and you have a horizontal gradient. :)

For me, the Win7 panel (as seen on the screenshots, haven't tested it) is pug ugly...

hi!
The theme looks good, but the clock is hard to read, it would be nice to see for example some smaller points for every hour.
thx!

I've always thought of the analogue desktop clock as a fashion detail, and haven't considered that someone would actually use it :) (look at the Glaze theme for proof :) )

I agree with you, I'll see what will be best way to do this. Cheerio!

hi, i to consider it a fashion detail or i could say "something that makes my desktop look cooler", but if it's there, why not use it :) (i even removed the digtal one from the taskbar)
Yes, the one from Glaze looks good and it's easy to read.
Thx! for the reply and keep up the good work.
Have a nice day!

Could you elaborate? Two red arrows and a screenshot really doesn't mean much...

Bottom of PopupApplet is sharpen.

I think it should be over panel (with rounded corners) or more polished. At the moment we see "dark line".

Report

ivancukic

Unfortunately, the popup applet is hard-coded not to show one of the edges, so I'm powerless to do anything for that :(

I can't tell you how many plasma themes I tried, and this is the only one that manages to balance transparency and readability no matter what background I put underneath it. This is important for me, because I can never decide on one on wallpaper. With this theme, I can run the slideshow effect for wallpapers, and no matter what comes up, I can see the wallpaper AND read the information. Light background, dark background, it's all good! For me, this is another important step toward living comfortably with KDE4. Thanks so much!

I'm sorry. I believe that it was only a Spanish expresion and it doesn't have any translation.

I meant:

Someone else using KDE that has the panel at the TOP of the screen instead of the bottom! :-D

IMO, menus flow better down than up. And no, I have never used a Mac ;-P

Report

ivancukic

I haven't used mac neither :) I just like having the important information on the top - running applications, clock... (I used to put the system tray down though, but got lazy to create so many panels - had 4 at one point :) )

Could you make an improved shutdown dialog different from the default one? Elegance's is very nice, for example.

Also, since you're involved with plasma, can I ask you if the knotification dialogs could not be cut out? It would be nice if the frame started right above the taskbar. I don't know if that's a theme or plasma detail though. What i'm talking about is something like Lancelot's aproach (great job on that one ;) )

Keep up the good work. We appreciate it!

If I think of something for shutdown dialogue, I'll do it, although I don't find it an important part since it is not something you look at often :) (at least it shouldn't be)

Concerning the cutting of the extenders, as far as I know, it is *very* intentional (I wasn't involved in the development, but I followed it closely).

Cheerio!

Too late :( I haven't seen this comment until it was too late.

If you don't like the transparent version, just remove the widgets/translucentbackground.svg
file
