I extracted the .tar.gz and got superkaramba find it, but it won't let me configure it. I copied the .kuartet folder to ~.

I put the .theme files and the supporting files in my .superkaramba folder.

How do you have yours set up? I guess I would add better installation of the actual .theme files than just extracting them to wherever.

I'm definitely intrigued by this and want to try it. I messed with one of the Symphony OS Beta Live Cd's and it has promise, but isn't really useable as a system whereas this seems to be very useable. - Feb 15 2006

I'm just glad that I could help the community out.

Will definately keep a watch over the development.

I'm working on trying to find a decent, free (and ad-free) web host since I can't run one from home. If you know of any, let me know as I could then host the package there. - Jan 04 2006
So far it's awesome and far superior to the one I was using.

I made a .deb for Kubuntu: http://www.public.iastate.edu/~bobw/cpuinfo_0.1-1_i386.deb

I can't keep the package up for too long as I'll need the webspace for school when it starts in a couple of days.

Hopefully the package works for people. - Jan 03 2006

I think this is interesting since I tried modifying another kicker applet that I found on this site to display my temperature, but I found it to be a little taxing on resources.

Is this a pretty fast applet or will it bog my system down?

I found out that my link quality was going above 100, so anything greater than 120 wasn't finding an icon with the index that is used to find it.

I'd make a .diff, but I haven't had success doing them, so here is what I changed:

''' Tray icon name '''
if int(status):
index = int(linkStatus)
if index > 100:
index = 5
else:
index = index / 20
iconName = 'pywireless_' + str(index) - Jan 15 2006
I really like this, a lot lighter than KWifiManager, which I had been using to show the statistics since I let wifi-radar manage my connections.

The only problem that I get is when the systray icons change. Most of the time, it shows the default mimetype icon (a single page) but other times it shows the actual icons.

I put screenshots here for you to see:

I probably won't be able to make the chat, but I have a feeling that it will go well.

Don't know if it's currently added, but maybe add user themes in ~/.kde/share/apps/yakuake. (I would submit a patch if I knew how to make the change)

Keep up the good work! - Jan 07 2006
This version is sweet.
I like the fact that it is skinnable and I've given up the tabs totally because just having this program is slick.

Great Work! - Sep 24 2005
I remember looking around kde-apps and finding the original kuake and not really understanding what it was since I've never played Quake.

The recent development into all the variations of this program has made me want to try it.

I just removed my full screen konsole in place of this, and although it doesn't allow tabs, I like it so far.

I'm running Kubuntu Breezy and have no such problems with compiling windecs. I do have 2 windecs that were made with decgen and they work perfectly.

My only problem with windecs is when I try to modify the code myself to add a feature (making default round corners square in Knifty) and I screw it up. But that's just me being a numerical methods programmer and being very proficient in FORTRAN.

Did you install Ubunutu Breezy and then apt-get the kde packages? That could be one of the problems, but I don't know. - Nov 01 2005

This is a very nice style, but I don't like the centered tabs.

I know very basic C++ since I mainly do numerical methods programming in FORTRAN, but I was wondering, what would I have to change to get the tabs on the left? - Oct 30 2005

Tecplot is a graphing utility. A lot of people who do computational work in fluid dynamics use it to show their results. It isn't made to be a modelling program, but I think you could, but it'd be really hard. I had to do the modeling by hand for the aerodynamics code and then once I get those results, I parse that file to get the data I need to plot.

Definately not a cheap program, I got it from the site license from my university.

Probably way more than you wanted to know.

SmoothBlend is great as are the rest of your windecs. - Sep 09 2005

I don't use kbfx, but this is (IMHO) the best looking theme for it. All the others seem to have the Windows look with long graphics, while not bad, I don't like the XP start menu graphics; I want my Linux to stand out.

I do prefer the regular kmenu, but if I was to get kbfx, your theme would be the one I'd use.

I actually tried Mezzo out the other day, and although it didn't really work all that well in Kubuntu, the idea is good.

I currently only have one icon on my desktop and it's for the Lemmings clone Pingus and I'm not sure why it's still there as I moved it to Kicker also. The only other things that pop up are the autodetected device icons like my memory stick.

I think that it would be cool if it could be something similiar to OSX Dashboard without the widgets, maybe another virtual layer. This could be where Plasma comes in. - Aug 19 2005

Forgot to finish the comment, it was a busy morning.

Any ideas on what the problem could be? I'm thinking it's the picture I'm using; I played around in Gimp for about 2 hours last night trying to get it to work. - Aug 04 2005
I really like this ksplash engine, by far the best.

I just switched over to Kubuntu the other day and got Moodin to work so I decided to make a theme for Kubuntu based off of your MoodinKDE with the Kubuntu default wallpaper. It works, but the picture gets resized all wierd and doesn't go where I want it. The theme.rc file is the same as the one for your theme, but the name, description, and that have been changed.

I'd like a seemless integration from login, splash, desktop. - Aug 04 2005

This is a cool program. I've been thinking about how to do this for a while now, but I'm not really a C++ programmer.

I wonder if there is a way to do this without having to take a screenshot. My idea, when I thought about this, was to take KolourPaint and remove the extra stuff, make the background transparent and fullscreen, and run it from the system tray with an option for one on each virtual desktop. Just some ideas I guess.
