Heh, you're much welcome! For the record, I still use your theme. Unbeatable in simplicity.

Nice work! - Mar 19 2011
I really like this theme!

Drop down boxes look better than any other theme, scrollbars in latest version are also very nice. My only gripe was with "close tab" icon standing out too much. I placed stock["gtk-close"] = {{ "Images/close.png", *, *, * }} into default styles and took nice gradient close icon from egtk theme, and now it looks awesome:

If you like how it looks, please integrate this change into the latest version.

Thanks! - Jul 27 2010
Hello! Nice theme!

I'd like to report a bug, using this theme, menus in Thunderbird are invisible. Clicking reveals the clicked menu though, but only until mouse leaves menubar again. Here's the screenshot:

Thanks for a great theme! - Jul 02 2010

Oh, nice, I've updated my shutter to the latest version and everything's ok now. Thanks! - Aug 27 2010
I forgot to add these requests:

Tray & Indicators: RadioTray, DeadBeef, Lookit, Shutter

App Icons: Aptana Studio, DeadBeef, Gitg, Komodo (ide, edit), Meld, Uget (gwget), Mirage, Viewnior, Zim Wiki - Aug 27 2010
OK, this is the best icon theme ever! Bypasses all other imho. Great job and keep it up!

A couple of indicator icon requests:

* Kupfer (something like gnome-do will do it)
* Glippy (glipper, parcellite)
* Keyboard layout indicators (flags or text, you decide)
* Opera (yes, they have status icon, ugly one)

Other than that, maybe some more folder types, you know, programming, tmp, dropbox, games, notes... to make them stand out from ordinary folders.

Oh, and brand new emblems :)

I guess, that's it. How do we donate? - Aug 27 2010

Thanks for reply. I really like folder-heart.png like folder shape type, but unfortunately there's only one of those in there and no generic icons shaped like that one.

Other than that, I sometimes notice strange behavior of some icons in some apps, especially gwibber. They appear huge. See here: http://twitpic.com/1yqk4k
Notice huge plus icon and also huge red close icon on status bar. What could be the problem?

Also, while we are at it, are you coloring some icons on purpose? See http://twitpic.com/1yqkxw - Jun 21 2010
Wow! You've done an amazing job! Those icons look really professional and polished. Except, I prefer folder icons of Snow Sabre icon set, but that's just a personal preference. How can I mix those folder icons into your set locally?

Keep up the great work! - Jun 21 2010

While I am a big fan of Jimmac, I did not like his cursors because the tip of the mouse pointer was rounded and it somehow gave me wierd feeling that my interface is lagging. (I know that sounds silly, but it's true, mouse cursor theme affects my feelings)

Now, this theme is PERFECT. I was using the Jaguar theme, but this one has a unique wait animation that makes it not look like a rip.

Sorry, my bad, there is an install file withing the archive. PLease ignore. But I still cannot remove the letters. Anyone ? - Aug 21 2005
Sorry, I forgot to ask, how do you install these flags? I cannot find any png files under same names in my system, so a little help would be great here.

Thanks! - Aug 21 2005
Cool flags, thanks for submission.

But is there any way to remove those 2 letters from keyboard switcher? Flags behind them are nearly unrecognizeable :(

Thanks again. - Aug 21 2005

Hello!

You are right about the correction. However, if you pay attention to the shot, the text IS white but it looks black only in PREVIEW image. That was a bug with KDE 3.4.1, however, it is fixed in 3.4.2 now.

Enjoy! - Aug 12 2005
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I agree that there are plenty of blue based themes out there. However I tried to make a "clone" of clearlooks theme which also uses blue.

Let's face it, blue is nice :) So is green, orange ...

Glad you liked it. - May 19 2005

OK, I've thrown up a wallpaper that would make green lovers happy. You can find different resolution versions at http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=21316

Have fun indeed! - Feb 28 2005
Thanks for feedback, wallpaper is really a good idea. I'll definitely try to produce one with the same simple style and colors within days.

Thanks. - Feb 28 2005
I see your point here, but here I cannot use any more colors than major green white and black which will result in too colorful splash we all try to avoid.

Have you actually tried the splash, the pic on preview only shows icons in their higlight (a.k.a. active) mode? Normal states of icons are much lighter. - Feb 27 2005

Cezanne is my favourite icon them on KDE and I was just planning to port this to Gnome after the very son expected update. You beat me here dude!

The only thing I cannot solve here is how to make KDE and Gnome to use different icons for different image types. DO you have any idea how to name mimetype icons for this? I could find no documentation :( - Feb 16 2005

Wow! Waclav, this time I really really like scrollbars, they look very smooth, kinda liquid plastic or something like that. Nice color touch. Also just noticed the Home icon, you managed to prettify and simplify it, I like this version very much.

Please continue in this mod ! - Feb 01 2005
Yet another masterpeace!

I like the concept of floating buttons. However, the highlight color could be a little lighter. And the handle of scrolbar needs some additional work imho. It just doesn't feel right on thet perfect otherwise scrolbar.

Other than that, great theme! Keep the great work. - Jan 15 2005

Christopher, this theme is definitely my favourite one on KDE. However, I noticed some problems and wanted to share them with you.

For some odd reason, most of the mime types are not set by default. Let's say I am using crystal, I switch to cezanne, restart KDE and track changes. Now, nearly all archives stay the same (crystal) and I have to edit all the filetype icons manually.

Another problem with picture mime types, for ex. all pictures use the same mime icon, I mean there is no difference between jpg, png, gif, ai, psd and bmp files. And I have to set them manually again.

If someone knows how this can be fixed, please inform us here.

I tried both installation methods (with theme manager), manually copying files, I even generated a theme from scratch, nothing helps.

What could be the problem?

Thanks for great work. I'll be checking this theme everyday for new updates. - Jan 18 2005

I think this is made intentionally, otherwise why include additional icons where stock icons could be used.

Actually if you look too close, these 2 home icons, also back and up buttons are different.

I for example look the blurry look, it looks smooth :) - Nov 25 2004
Great is not the right word to explain this theme. However I see how it can be impoved:

- Scrollbars have very little prelight, maybe it's wise to make scroolbars the same color as default menu bar on hover?

- It would be nice if buttons changed color on hover, currently only text color changes to purple...

The best thing I like in this theme is that it has a big space for dragging windows on right bottom, as I resize windows way too much. - Nov 25 2004

Hello Andre!

I saw your patches and must say I am very impressed. I made some mockups with enhanced look. Not that I want them implemented right now :), just to give you more tips about the future of patches.

1. Can rounded corenrs be implemented in list view? If yes, how about moving file name a little to the right, so that there can be a space for rounded corner. (See http://www.amiroff.com/drafts/kde/list.png and http://www.amiroff.com/drafts/kde/list2.png). Also, is it possible to make a selection with length equal to the length of file name? I think this was it will look better. (See list1.png and list2.png)

2. Adding 2 more pixels to the both left and right side of icon label makes it look nice imho. Can this be implemented? (http://www.amiroff.com/drafts/kde/icon.png and http://www.amiroff.com/drafts/kde/icon2.png)

Well, I think that's all :)

Thanks again for your work. I hope they get into official KDE asap. - Oct 14 2004

I was having your problems too. Here's what I came up with:

If one chooses the cursor theme from Kcontrol they will find that some of the cursor theme's pointers like resize, wait and point does not work and display standart X cursors instead. For now the only workaround I've gound for this is to leave Control Centre alone and choose cursor themes manually. That is exactly as explained in howto. Don't select cursor themes from control centre module.

To add cursor theme system-wide, just copy your favourite theme (cursors dir) in default directory. Also put your index.theme file content of which is something like this

[Icon Theme]
Name=jimmac
Comment=My Personal Jimmac Cursors
Example=left_ptr

into the same default directory. Then copy this default directory to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/ . Don't mess with Kcontrol, just use this method to make your theme default for every account on system.

If you want to change the cursor theme, again modify the index.theme file and change the theme name in it to say, Silver, and copy your silver directory to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/.

The howto on http://kde-look.org/help/index.php?type=36 explains it pretty good how to install a cursor theme.

I will add two more things:

For now the only workaround I've gound for this is to leave Control Centre alone and choose cursor themes manually. That is exactly as explained in howto. I don't know the exact reason, but all these cursor themes do not work copletely in KDE while the do perfectly in Gnome. I mean, in KDE resize (all directions) and move cursors somehow get owerwrited by default X cursors.

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this? KDE 3.2 here. - Jul 02 2004

Very good, congratultions!

However, can I request one more letter?
The letter is "Schwa", looks like upside down "e". This is the only one missing for us, Azerbaijani linux users.

I could give some more information about that letter if you're willing to add suppport to it.

Thanks - Aug 12 2004
