launchSwitch
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Personnaly i use it as a proxy switcher between my company proxy and home connexion without proxy.
The programs or commands to be launched can be configured.
This is a pure source plasmoid, nothing has to be build.
This development reuse one of the example provided with qt.
It needs KDE 4.9 as a minimum.
For the first version the SVG images are not resizable.
Version 1.0:
The images are now resizable so you can adapt the size of this switch to your needs.
As this is my first contribution on this site, feedbacks will be very welcome.
Version 1.1:
Modification of the labels in the configuration interface to replace on/off by right/left as suggested by contadino. It's more user friendly.
Version 1.2:
In this version i have changed the images and adopt a more rock&roll attitude. The images correspond to the switch of a Les Paul Gibson guitar.
Enjoy.

It is KDE 4.10.3 with Kubuntu 32 bit I have installed through the "get hot new stuff" of the plasmoid menu. Maybe this is not the last version?
I am also running KDE 4.10.3 on FEDORA 18 32 bit. To install it, i used the 'add widget' tool and select the Switch.plasmoid file which is loaded locally. May be you can try this: unzip the Switch.plasmoid, zip it again and reload. It is pure qml code, nothing is compiled so there may be also a qt version problem. My version of qt is 4.8.4.
Ooops sorry I had the previous version with the previous image of the switch, which i thought was the last version. It's working good Is the source code available somewhere ? Is it easy to replace the image by customs svgs or even png? thanks
Good news then. The source is in fact in the plasmoid itself. This is just a zip file that contains all the sources and as i wrote before, nothing is compiled. I think you can easily replace the images (you need obviously 2 images). They are placed in the /contents/ui directory. If you need to change the names as well, you will have to change them also in the qml files. My images are in png format. I do not know what will happen with svg images. Please let me know if you succeed to make it work. Regards
Hmm I can't make it work: I tried with Nothing on the left side; /usr/bin/kate on the right side then push it to the right but nothing happend samething for mkdir $HOME/tralala how to solve it ?
Hello, This sound strange because i tried myself kate on the right and dolphin on the left with and without a /usr/bin path with no problem at all. It should be due to an installation problem or access rights. Which version of KDE are you using ?
Does one thing. Simple and clean. Easy to use. Well done!
I just moved to KDE 4.10 and there is no regression.
Useful plasmoid, thank you! It would be nice to have some on/off text or color, now I have to remember what left or right position is standing for.
You're right i have the same problem. I will just change the text of the config entries to put right/left instead of on/off. I want to keep the UI without text.
