I just checked the release logs and realised that support for multiple batteries hasn't yet been shipped in 4.9.2, we'll probably do it in next release.
For the unofficial plasmoid, I will have to look into it. Thank you again for reporting the problem.

The official plasmoid consistently displays only one battery, no matter what I do.
The unofficial plasmoid (which I downloaded using the "add new widget" function of KDE) mostly works as it should, i.e. displays total remaining time and charge states for two batteries. Only when I send the machine into hibernation it often (though not always) forgets one battery upon resume. Rebooting or cycling to sleep state and back then restores display of the second battery. The issue is not critical for me, but indicates that something is undeterminate with the battery count upon resuming from hibernation. The information shown by Plasma Engine Explorer has never been wrong up to now.
I run KDE 4.9.2 installed from the Kubuntu-Backports repo. How can I tell if the version of the battery plasmoid packaged by the Kubuntu-devs is really the most recent upstream version?

I have a system (Lenovo T400) with two batteries. The Enhanced Battery Monitor correctly displays the total remaining time.
However, it displays only the charge state of one battery, although two ("Battery0" and "Battery1") show up correctly as sources in Plasma Engine Explorer.
The tooltip states e.g. "Battery: 93% (discharging)". Comparison with the information form Plasma Engine Explorer suggests that this corresponds to "Battery0". The information for "Battery1" is omitted.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.1 with Kernel 3.2.0 (amd64) and KDE 4.9.2.

The value delivered by the underlying data engine is correct, and it works as expected in the original battery plasmoid. It is also updated on a reload of plasma.
Until the developers of KDE decide to bring back this important funcionality in the upstream plasmoid, which will also be looked after and updated along with the rest of KDE, it would be great if you could fix this. Else this plasmoid is unfortunately not helpful.
Poke me if I can provide further information. System is a gentoo x86_64, qt 4.8.3, kde 4.9.1 on a thinkpad t410 with the built-in standard battery.
Kind regards

yes, it appears that it is fixed now, thank you a lot :)
As you know, I'd love to see that in upstream. But as this won't happen, thanks a lot for providing the alternative plasmoid here. I hope you'll manage to keep it up to date with upstream.
Again, thanks for your work.
Kind regards

Still if you find any inconsistencies at any point, just leave a comment here and I'll get it done.

Is there a simple way to translate it? (both "hours" and of course the name of the option in the UI is untranslated here. The hours one surprises me, as I am quite sure that KDE does provide a standard translation for that)
Thanks for your work

Ne?

But you see, there is a reason backed by arguments why this feature was dropped. You, without even trying to prove these arguments wrong, called devs insane, which is...somthing only a really stupid person can do. So I merely poited this out...
But as one of my friends like to say: "Everyone have an undisputed right to look stupid on the internetz", so be my guest.
btw. calling someone "totalitarianist" just because you cannot read (or understand written text) right is pretty stupid as well
(sorry for the OT, I just cannot help myself)

What I see in plasma engine explorer is this: http://imageshack.us/f/145/snapshot1r.png/ (now I think "Battery" is actually the AC power and "Battery0" is the actual battery. The first says 0msec remaining and the second doesn't have the field.
