Description: This is an emoticon set that combines those from the msn7+ set with those from the animated set. There currently seem to be 389 total emoticons within this file that are compatible with the latest version of Kopete.
It is a more complete mix of emoticons than I have seen available previously, and it is possible thanks to some previous work of others and the ability of the MSN Messenger protocol to use custom emoticons in addition to the default one. If other protocols add the ability to use custom emoticons, it should be very easy to add the same animated icons from this set to other protocol specific sets.
I created it because I wanted to be able to see the emoticons sent by friends from MSN Messenger the way that they thought they were being sent while still being able to take advantage of much richer animated emoticons.
I also changed edited the reference strings so that if someone tries to send an emoticon explicitly (with text) it will still work even if they are using all caps. Previous versions that I had seen only had lower case reference strings.
Since this is a very large file, there could be some performance issues with slower computers and/or older software.Last changelog:
This is the first version I am submitting.
There are certain design decisions that might be made for later versions to better facilitate conventions used within MSN Messenger. However, this emoticon set should work just fine as-is with Kopete.
Please do not distribute contents you do not have the right to distribute. Some of these emoticons are yahoo's or msn's and shouldn't be here.
I'd be happy if you could provide your own emoticons though, esp. if they were really open-source (svg with a makefile).
Cheers
