Description:

The Buuf Deuce icon theme for KDE 4! I think it's finally ready for 1.0.

All artistic credit goes to Paul Davey, aka mattahan (http://mattahan.deviantart.com). I messed around a bit to create some custom icons, but he is responsible for essentially everything. His work is absolutely amazing, click on that link!

This suite is meant for KDE. While it's tango standards-compliant, many gnome/gtk apps are missing icons. I'm also taking any and all specific requests for more icons.

To install, just download the zip file, unzip it, and install the tar file in the 'install theme' dialog in system settings > appearance > icons. You'll need the 'unzip' or 'zip' app!

I'd just make it a .tar.bz2 but deviantart won't allow that filetype and kde-look wouldn't take such a large file.

License: Mattahan has released his icons under the CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, a creative commons license. I am doing the same with my derivative works (of course). This means you can redistribute any ofthese icons for NONCOMMERCIAL purposes if you give credit to the artist and agree to share your own derivative works. More info is in the main dir of the decompressed tarball.

Hi, there is no icon for the CPU where you renice a process (in the process viewer).

I think it should be at:
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/128x128/devices/cpu.png

Best regards,
Sladi

Those are icons I am missing: .odt files, workgroups icons, samba servers, battery plasomid, system settings, amarok play/stop etc. big icons, .gpg icons, text editor backup icons, gmail plasmoid, skype, virtualbox, googleearth, picasa, kdenlive, kadu (most popular communicator in Poland www.kadu.net), regular kde4 menu icon in buuf style, change close button icon cause it's too dark.
That's all I think :)

Added what I could (I think I got most of it). Sorry about the slow turnaround!

Excellent, a list! I'll get right to work :).

A couple problems, though. I've already included battery icons where oxygen keeps theirs. It seems that the battery icon is controlled by the plasma theme, not the icon theme (kind of silly). The Amarok play/pause icons are all part of the amarok theme svg. Maybe I'll find a way to edit it and release it separately.

Also, what are 'big icons'? Do you mean a higher resolution? KDE won't actually use higher resolutions than 128x128 so far as I can tell.

Finally, a Buuf-style KDE4 icon would look terrible, because I'd be doing it (rather than mattahan) unless he decides to make one. But I can try ;).

Everything else seems doable, except for the plasmoids. woo!

Wow :) what a quick answer :D
I meant those play/pause icons in the top left corner in amarok :)
Ok, do what you can :D
Thanks for great icon theme! :DDD

This theme is really nice. I'm glad you port it to KDE4. What is the Ktorrent icon supposed to be?

I only noticed a missing icon that appears in the systemtray when you copy large files. :)

This is an excellent icon theme. Coupled it with Arezzo plasma theme, Reluna Olove DeKorator Theme and QtCurve and my desktop looks stunning.

Well done !

Sorry, I don't think it will work very well with KDE 3. You can check out my older KDE 3 theme right here, though: http://www.kde-look.org:80/content/show.php/Buuf+for+KDE+(KDE+3)?content=56726

It should still work!

Lol, the spam icon in KMail is classy. These are great icons, love them even more than the Tango set. Thanks for the port!

I like the fact that the mouseover message is: Filter *CLASSIFY* as spam. Yeah, make it classy! ;)

can you do this too http://norbalin.deviantart.com/art/Umicons-2-0-for-KDE-Linux-2550034 ? Please :)

Maybe this summer :). To get Buuf Deuce up to snuff, I had to hack together about 160 icons myself and Buuf/Buuf Deuce were intended to cover all the bases for desktop usage!

I'll probably do GANT before Umicons anyways, so sorry to disappoint!

any ideas?

Um... it's in the 'IMPORTANT' section on the main page, silly.

"IMPORTANT: to use this icon theme, you need some applications:
1. 'zip' or 'unzip'. This allows you to unpack the files! (necessary because deviantart won't let me upload tarballs)
2. The 'convert' command from the Imagemagick application suite (free and open source).
3. 'tar'. You should already have this if you have KDE.
4. KDE. I don't know why you wouldn't have this, but uh... this suite is meant for KDE. While it's tango standards-compliant, many gnome/gtk apps are missing icons."

On archlinux, which is what I use (woo another archer): pacman -S imagemagick.

I don't think I included install instructions in the actual file, though. I should do that, thanks for reminding me!

'convert' is super handy for any kind of batch image editing, btw.

Love it! Just like the screenshot, it goes perfectly with Reluna Dekorator theme and QtCurve. I can't seem to find that plasma theme though... which one is it?

Yup, it's Aya. I like a theme that matches my color scheme (stupid non-configurable plasma)
