V2 : modifications of transparency, some littles things, and it includes yet the font for gnome panel and a background.
So just unrar and install what you need.
V2.1 : resolve bug disappearance of the buttons... I just click buttons halo together because if you let just the halo for the windows at first side and not the backside the buttons were disappearing... Strange !
I modify it in the new pack ;)
V3 : new buttons for the emerald theme like in screenshot number 3 and a new background high resolution home made (photo 5Mpix).

I've been using Linsta, but when I have windows open, they show up as black on the taskbar, and I don't like that.

But if it's not ok and you want to change the color of your gnome desktop you can take "gnome color chooser", it can modify all the color of your panels.
(I used it for the white color of gnome panel font).

I dont understand how you use the GTK theme with beryl, whenever I go to Preferences -> Themes, and select my GTK theme, nothing happens.
(To avoid confusion, how did you get your very top menu bar to look like it did.)
Thanks

So you go in the Emerald menu and you import my theme.
For the menu bar you click right on it, there are 2 onglets with one called font or color I don't remember, you click the checkbox apply a font from a file, you take my file called "gnome-panel.png" and you apply it.
And the menu bar will be the same transparency...
For the color of the police, you must take a logiciel called gnome color chooser, and make all the menus white.
That's it...
If you have any problem I'm here for help you :)

Do you have these 3 packets ? :
- libgtkmm >= 2.8.0
- libglademm >= 2.6.0
- libxml2 >= 2.6.0
Otherwise I don't know...
If you have no solutions for the program you can modify manually :
1. Edit (make if it doesn't exist) the file : ".gtkrc-2.0" in /home/user/
2. Ad these instructions in the file :
style "change_color"
{
fg[NORMAL] = "#FFFFFF"
}
widget "*PanelWidget*" style "change_color"
widget "*PanelApplet*" style "change_color"
3. Kill and reboot Gnome to look at the result :
sudo killall gnome-panel restart
Yet it must be OK :)

You must install Beryl and Emerald theme manager.
After you install these programms you open the emerald theme manager and go to "open new theme".
So, if you don't know how to install Beryl and Emerald go to : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/applications/beryl
(in french)
or :http://wiki.beryl-project.org/index.php/Install/Ubuntu/Edgy/XGL
