Description:

There is hope and its called: KORE
Kore is a completely new attempt at finally giving KDE a constant, stylish and modern identity.

This project aims to replace all that was default and redraw your whole desktop. So the category "Emerald-Theme" is unfitting, but there is nothing like a Suite category here.
If you are a really skilled ICON DESIGNER or QT STYLE SKINNER,
contact me at the email found in my profile.

I'm happy for every help i get !

Thanks for checking it out, more Screenshots to come,

You got me doing something I never thought I would do being a Gnome fanboy, but, just blew away a couple distros to make room for a fresh emerge of KDE or should I say a fresh emerge of KORE.

Still keeping the Gnome install though. :)

Seen a couple of Gnome ports already, kimmik's is actually pretty good, but I want the real deal, start to finish. ;)

First, I want to congratulate you for this amazing job.

In the first previews you posted to kde-look, we could see a theme with dark black bar on the top of the window, and one with a blue light bar on the top (I think it was in konqueror).

I think the blue one is really nice because it gives more light to the desktop and fits very well with the rest of the theme and the windeco.

Any chance you could release this one too, with the blue bar ? (it may be just a domino config. change, but if you posted a screenshot, you should have this on you computer too ;-) !!

Looking forward to download this version of Kore, with a bit more light because of the blue bar !

Cheers and keep up the good work !

ive done a deKorator theme but everytime i try to install the theme it says that the theme file is invalid... copying the theme into an already installed themes folder works :/

Note: for gnome, the beryl theme and background still works, so you can get most of the feel of this suite.

Judging from the screenshots, it looks like we finally got a decent dark theme for KDE.
To bad my hd died the day before yesterday, so I won't be able to try D:

Even though I can't install this due to not being able to run Beryl, this is by far the best looking theme I have seen yet. Great work.

Beautiful theme. You should join Ubuntu/Kubuntu art team...actually I believe Mark Shuttleworth is looking to hire a ui designer of sorts. Check out the latest Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter, there is something in there about it..also under the employment section at the Ubuntu Site. Again, beautiful work.

I think the "theme" you've created looks better and is just as highly polished as those in Vista and OSX, possibly more so. The (K)Ubuntu teams failure to engage your services would be a gross error I feel.

Keep up the good work, this theme is brilliant!

Great work. Looks awesome, my only comments are that the frames look like they might take up a lot of space, and you should make sure to keep this theme at least semi 256Mb RAM friendly. Remember, KDE as of current is used by mostly Linux users, and Linux users don't always have the most powerful machiens. Just don't let the FX overpower its function, if it's going to become a commonly excepted theme, then it has to be functional first.

I would love to see this theme adopted when finished by some distros as there default though, I could imagine it getting Kubuntu a lot of attention. Once again, great work.

Wow, you might actually get me to use KDE more often with something like this.

I can't stand the candy land look of KDE, it's like it's always there no matter what you do but you apparently despise it as much as I do, and unlike me you seem to have the skill to take it out back and put it down for good. :)

Can't wait till it's done.

I would love to see a gnome version of this skin rather then the KDE logo...

What can I say... I like the gnome icon better :)

Would someone please direct me as to how "beryl" works? As I read it was a separate GUI from gnome and KDE, but this thread makes it sound like its an addon to KDE?

Beryl is basically an add on. It adds to kde or gnome or xfce. It's basically a window manager that also adds a ton of effects.

Ahh I see thank you!

My next question then is... is it possible to get the gnome foot icon in the lower left hand corner rather then the KDE icon?

Report

I noticed that this theme (Looks almost exactly like vista) has an Ubuntu logo in the lower left instead of the KDE logo...
