Any feedback is appreciated.

This QtCurve theme works best with QtCurve 1.5.1 and KDE SC 4.5 with blur turned on.

To clarify the above statement, QtCurve 1.5.1 is needed for transparency, and KDE SC 4.5 with the blur Kwin effect activated for the blurring effect that makes the transparency easy on the eyes.

AAaaah it dosn't work with kaffeine

Yeah, a lot of video players don't like transparency. This is due to a lot of complicated crap with the way X handles video a lot of the time. You can blacklist kaffeine in the QtCurve settings dialog so it doesn't get transparency it will show video after that. On a side note VLC does work with transparency.

Is installing kde-4.5 absolutely necessary to install this theme? I installed qtcurve-1.5.1 and imported the theme. I get the colors, but no transparency.

Hi all i have the same problem can not get windows to be transparent...Updated KDE to KDE 4.5 RC and still can not get it to work..

Num83rGuy

QtCurve 1.5 was I believe the first version to have an option for transparency. It however had a bug causing plasma to act like a normal window so 1.5.1 ( the most recent ) is the version I recommend you use. There is a link in the description.

sorry but i dont know how to install, i need a little bit help please

juank202

You have to compile the qtcurve 1.5.1 source code, inside the compressed file you find instructions, and you must have KDE 4.5 to activate blur effect.

juank202

How do you get the window transparent?, I have qtcurve 1.3.1 and kde 4.4.3. thanks

Num83rGuy

Use QtCurve 1.5.1 ( I have it linked in the description above. ) but you will need a recent KDE 4.5 RC version to get the blurring effect that makes the transparency usable. Otherwise text showing through from windows below the one you are using will make reading a PITA. ( pain in the a** )

I am assuming you are using Mandriva from your user icon. I found this blog post for KDE 4.5 Mandriva RPM packages if you are interested. http://neoclust.free.fr/blog/?p=72

Ic qtcurve now seems to have rgba support also, looks cool, even cooler is, that it seems to work with vlc. These are untampered shots right? Looks very differently cool! //Robert

Yeah, the only tampering I did was to convert the PNG to a JPG to meet upload size requirements.
