Slick2 metabar skin
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
This is a Metabar theme that is:
- very compact, yet expandable
- automatically translatable into your preferred language
- follows KDE widget colors in everything: background, font, button colors.
- provides easy way to access common searching engines, like Google, Locate and Beagle.
It was created in essence by FJR - the original Metabar creator. After he issued Slick I made some bad changes to it to allow using Locate and Beagle and sent that to FJR. He sent me a working version but said that it's unlikely he will have time to post that himself.
So, half a year of waiting for him to do it, I am posting this version myself. Thx to FJR for all his work. This skin is an off-shot of his Slick skin (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=38080)
I just made it follow KDE colors and rearranged options a bit.
Please, enjoy the skin..
INSTALLATION and UPGRADE
1. Right-click on metabar and choose "Metabar Settings"
2. Click on "Install Theme" button and choose the file you download from here (If upgrading, this package will overwrite the older version)
3. Select Slick2 skin in the pull-down menu and press OK button.
2.2 (October 20, 2006)
Cleaning up the interface:
- Moved the "Configure" and "Search" buttons away from the top. It looked too cluttered.
- Search now is the "More" button, that shows the search dialog and the configure button.
2.1 (September 16, 2006)
- removed many unneeded separators. Now, the Info section is all together with "open with", from which it is separated by the preview picture. Imho, this arrangement makes a lot of sense.
2.0 (September 14, 2006)
- Initial release
