hey great theme. One problem for me anyway, i can't seem to find the actual vu meter theme that matches vortigo 2.0 theme. I've downloaded all of them at least twice lol. I have the vu meter installed and activated etc (thanks to jellybean howto!!) but can't seem to find that vumeter theme. any help would be appreciated
yeah nevermind lol i got it sorted :) i'm an idiot haha thanks for the great theme again ;)
Which GTK theme are you using with it, or which GTK theme would you recommend to use with it?
I'm using "QtCurve" with own Color-settings tending to Mac-style. It's highly customizable! ~ ottlux
This is a beautiful theme; I've run it on several installs of different distros, and on both KDE and Gnome. I always try out different themes and iconsets to try to get that perfect look for my system but always come back to this for XMMS and now Audacious. Excellent work.
I have seen the screen shots and I think I could be hooked too. Would you mind giving me a step by step 'HOW TO INSTALL'. If not could you tell me where I might find installation instructions?
for me...
i just installed the xmms player and they sound is horrible... rhytmbox sound 100x better. is there anything i can do to make the sound better? i am useing ubuntu 8.04
Strange! Go into settings, select another "Output-plugin" and restart XMMS. If it doesn't helps, install "audacious" - that's the same like xmms. And ----- don't forget to install the VU-meter, it's magic !!! - ottlux
i did what you said untill i ran into this... brian@brian:~/Downloads/xmms skins/VU meter/vumeter-0.9.2$ make install Making install in src make[1]: Entering directory `/home/brian/Downloads/xmms skins/VU meter/vumeter-0.9.2/src' make[2]: Entering directory `/home/brian/Downloads/xmms skins/VU meter/vumeter-0.9.2/src' test -z "/usr/lib/xmms/Visualization" || mkdir -p -- . Hello Brian To install the Vumeter-plugin You need more rights as a normal user has. On Ubuntu You can install it with following commands: ./configure make sudo make install A detailed instruction You can find under: http://www.jellykernel.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=112&Itemid=49 Thx for Your interest
thankyou I have installed the plugin now but am having problems finding the VU meter add-on thanks this is a stunning theme
Alright, I found it... great thanks again this is one stunning theme
Okay, here's my problem. I'm a so called "noob" at this and have no clue as to how to enable the VU meter Help would be appreciated.
How the heck do I install the VU plugin on ubuntu? I am a n00b!! Please be gentle! Thanks
ok i got it installed, but when I enable it in xmms, it goes unenabled right away.. what am I doing wrong? I have been messin with this for like 5 hours. for a stupid vu meter. god it looks so cool though.
It's difficult to find out, what goes wrong in Your case. It' seems that the Plugin finds no Skins. Check whether You have made the directory: " /home/~/.xmms/VU_Meter_skins/ " and copy the VUmeter-Skins of the Plugin into that directory. Check if the directory and the Files are readable for all users. When the problem exists further, I suggest to check whether You have installed the actual XMMS-Player (1.2.10) or the actual VUmeter-Plugin (0.9.2) Go again step by step through my Installation-guidance for the plugin on (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=49127) and have also a look on other sides with explanations how to install the plugin: (http://www.vivaolinux.com.br/dicas/verDica.php?codigo=7789) (http://www.jellykernel.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=112&Itemid=25) Thanks for Your interest and I hope that will help You.
One of the name of the skin directory in VU_meter_skins must be "default" :) VU_Meter_skins/default :)
All the installed programs. Gets automatically in your home directory. /home/<your user name>/ In this case for XMMS it gets installed in /home/username/.xmms (hidden directory) Go to Nautilus/filebrowser. And press CTRL + H to view the hidden dirs. And do it again to hide them again. Every thing of XMMS goes: plugins in the "Plugins" dir and skins in the "Skins" dir
