Hello, I've done the "Sudo..." as described above and open the Splash Program in System-Preferences but when I click on the button "Install" and select the file downloaded for "Snowish Splash" it just closes on me. And when I open it back up again, it doesn't show it being installed. Any Help please? N8
just download the image when you click to view it. right click, save image as... then use that file to install it in gnome-splashscreen-manager
I found this by trying it out, after downloading the "32883-SnowIsh-splash.svgz" file rename it to "32883-SnowIsh-splash.svg.gz", the author has given the extension .svgz instead of .svg.gz. After that you can open it easily, it's a 2.4 mb svg file inside.
please can someone tell me how can i install this great work, tnx
sudo apt-get install gnome-splashscreen-manager ;) And then go to System > Preferences > Splash Screen
In fact that's a good question :P
I like it a lot, but can you produce a version without the text "Linux Desktop" text?
Or, failing that, at least the original .xcf or whatever you used to create it :). Thanks!
I added the SVG source file.
Actually I edited it with Inkscape and now mine says 'Gnome Desktop' ;)
