Description:
I very much like to switch themes from time to time or simply try them out to see what they look like. Truly amazing stuff from the artists to be sure, then again..... I get confused each time when icons that I have known for years are also transmogrified in the process. Admittedly, they often look better than the original but it seems that I'm a creature of habit, and I keep wondering what-is-what I'm looking at.

So one purpose of this package is to (re)set 50 of the original icons for files as defined by the manufacturers. Just so you can find your way around your own computer... The other is more for you artists, the package can be merged into your own theme if you want to.

Hope you find this useful.

How to Use
Download the package and save it at a location where you can find it back... (for example on your desktop)
Basically there are three options to go from here:

1. If you are using the default icon theme of your system, simply add this pack by installing it directly.
Go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Install and select this package (find it on the desktop)
If you get a prompt if you want to use the new set, then accept

2. The fast way to combine it with another (custom) icon theme requires some editing before installation
Open the package, open the directory "OfficePack" and open the file "index.theme" in a text editor
Enter the name of the other icon theme after the "Inherit =" line, delete the "#" in front and save
Save the "index.theme", close the package and install as given above.

3. You can also completely merge the contents in this package with another icon theme
Not detailed here, if you know what this means you also know the how-to.

Contents
- OfficePack directory: This holds all files needed for installation of the theme
- EmptyDemoFiles directory: Holds empty files to demonstrate all the supported file-extensions
- mimetypes.txt: List of the mimetypes and associated file-extensions in this theme
- readme.txt: This description

Limitations
- Only icons are included for those file-extensions which have a defined "mimetype". It certaintly does not include each and every icon used in these office packages.
- Icons from older packages are scaled up from 48px to 128px. They may look a bit ragged, but legacy stuff should be allowed to look like legacy, right?
- The installation is only tested on Ubuntu 8.04. It should work other and/or later distros (?)
Last changelog:

Version 1
First release with 50 OpenOffice, StarOffice & Microsoft Office default icons.

An Icon Theme should have a valid .theme file among its files and aim to be complete for desktop use under Gnome or KDE Plasma.

If it contains only a single icon or a small set of icons, please use the Icon Sub-Sets or Single Icon/Logo categories instead.
