I like this theme very much and I've had the original paper icon theme for my desktop since it came out. Recently I showed a friend of mine the icon theme and he too thought it was cool. So I sent him the link to this page.
Since there was an update to the icon set, naturally I wanted to update but an error occurred when I tried to install. I'm running ubuntu 9.04 and I have no clue why there'd be an installation error. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

are you talking about the notification area? I don't think it's posible to change those icons, as far as I know it depends on each application, some take the icon from the theme and other ones just use their own.
If some one know more about it and I'm wrong maybe he/she can point me in the right direction
These icons are great and they fit my current desktop perfectly. I'm using a hand-drawn black and white sketch as a background. If only it had a gnome-do icon. I'm using the new docky appearance of gnome-do and while in docky there is an icon for gnome-do that's always present in the dock. so far, no icon theme has an icon for gnome-do :(
Great job with the icons. I've almost completed a "black gradient" theme on my computer. All I need now are some cursors.
BTW, were these icons drawn by hand (with a scanner or a wacom tablet) or did you use a mouse/trackpad/trackball/etc?
Nice icons! If it's not to much to ask, would it be possible for you to create a Paper gtk theme (possibly with the pixbuf engine)?
If not, I might try, but I've never been good with pixbuf as I normally work with Murrina and Clearlooks.

Paper 1.2 worked but not Paper 1.4. What changed between 1.2 and 1.4?

Sorry for the late answer, this are all done with the mouse and very fast, kind of the idea, so they look like hand made...
