Google Shell (Dark & 3.2 compatible!)
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
I included the switches from 0rAX0's Nord theme because they're just so easy on the eyes and I couldn't find any "switches" on google's apps.
Installation:
Put the 'Google-Shell' folder inside ~/.themes and use a theme-selector extension to select it. OR, backup your /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme folder and replace everything inside it with this theme, press ALT+F2 and type 'r'
You also need 'Droid Sans' or 'Open Sans' fonts.
*NEW* I've included a darker overview theme for darker tastes. Just backup the original files and overwrite with the dark files!

-Changed Overview to a dark shade instead of light.
-Added texture to bottom panel, dash, workspaces, modals, and search results.

I think this can be the best theme for gnome 3. but it lakes a GTK and metacity themes which makes it hard to mix and match... can you please create one?
Well thanks for the huge compliment! Unfortunately I don't really know too much about gtk and therefore it would take me quite a while to figure out exactly what's needed for such a theme. Maybe I'll create a template for it and someone could help out or complete it.
I hope you will do it and someone can complete it. G+ L&F is great and would be great to have it on my desktop :D
This theme makes the shell freeze when trying to search for apps in Gnome 3.2. I applied to provided patches to no avail.
That's unfortunate. You're the second person I've heard have problems with this. I'm using 3.2 only in VirtualBox and have had no problems myself. I'll look into it when I get a chance.
I've finally updated this shell theme to not lock up on 3.2. Try it out!
There is a problem with the workspace changer on the right in the shell, the background doesn't extend all the way to the right on my setup (1920x1080 res). Here is a screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14569277/missing_bg.jpg Other than that I really love the theme, it's very clean and gives gnome shell a little something different. Thanks!
Hah, I thought I made them big enough for most resolutions, but here you go... http://db.tt/W9K3z0Ui Download that and put it in the gnome-shell folder. Overwrite the other one of the same file name. I haven't figured out how to repeat the background yet, otherwise this wouldn't happen.
Thanks :) Looking perfect now.
Hi! You had a really good idea and I enjoy the theme, but (for me) it feels like the dash and workspace switcher should had the same look and feel of the top bar. Maybe you could consider doing a second version taking this as a suggestion. Either way, excellent work :)
That's a good idea. The white is going for a match to the whiteness of the google website, but maybe I could make a 'blackle.com' version as well, huh?
Guess I will be waiting for the Blackle Shell 1.0, then! :)
Freshly uploaded a dark pack for you. Enjoy! Instructions included...
Looks awesome. I'm already using it. Thanks! :)
In case some of you don't like the orange in the message tray, here's a fix: Replace lines 1126 & 1127 with: background-color: white; in the gnome-shell.css file.
