If you use the Dash to Dock extension you will get more functionality with this theme, such as focus of the running application.
It seems there is a bug in GNOME. So if you want to see the correct calendar you should activate the week numbers with the Gnome Tweak Tool. Tweak Tool ->Top Bar -> Calendar -> Show week numbers
install the downloaded GNOME Shell theme with the Gnome Tweak Tool, or extract the GNOME Shell theme to ~/.themes.

Yes, I'm using "dash to dock" (by michele_g). I think the old design is more minimalist and easy to know which apps are running.
