ANewStart suite is a slick, clear theme for GNOME desktop environment.
It's designed to work under Gnome-Shell, Gnome-Fallback and Unity. For Unity and Gnome-Fallback mode, please read the README file inside the pack.
This themes comes also with: AWN Theme, CoverGloobus Theme, Conky files, Firefox Startpage (a modified version of http://folter-x.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2nrzo1),Gnome-panel (and AWN) background images. Unfortunately, since 1.3 version these themes are not fully supported, since for compatibility reasons with GNOME3 they became quite useless or unusable.

I'm trying to set up this on Mint Linux, running Cinnamon DE.
I've got an issue with the windows border. It does not display the window border correctly when the windows have a small width.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please help me.
This is how it looks like :

[So far I've done...]
Searched for people having similar issues and read all the posts here.
Tried searching thru the posts on deviantart although they're forum board is really irritating and I can't seem to view all the newer pages but I'll try there again later.
I know you mentioned you were going to put out a sweeping release for later versions of Gnome3 skipping 3.4 altogether. I see you updated it in December.
[Questions]
Did you update it to 3.6? Am I doomed for failure? The readme just says Gtk3
I'm on quantal and I put an error log up here: http://guszorro.kodingen.com/log.text you can see some warnings but nothing serious, is there any other information I could provide that would be helpful?

Something else (more of an annoyance than anything) is the grouping of the icons in the applications menu is really scrunched together. I personally would like to see them a little more spread out. Other than that, it's looking good! Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to say your theme is awesome. I've just got one problem: I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity and the theme has made the text (username, date) and icons on the top panel weird - the text is dark gray when it should be white and the icons have a weird kind of shadow or outline. I've seen the same thing when I've used other themes (such as Radiance which is included in the default install).I've tried to fix it by going into the theme file and changing HTML colour codes in some of the scripts but it doesn't seem to have worked yet and I'm scared of borking it. Any way to change the colours? Thanks in advance :)

So I immediately downloaded and installed it according to the instructions in README.pdf.
But, instead of the elegant title bar in the screenshots above, I get a disappointing old-looking title bar like this: http://i.minus.com/i8jkgIxRRAxFx.png
I wonder what I'm missing here...
Thanks a lot, and kind regards...

I wish this elegant theme could incorporate both versions...

Anyhow, I'm glad you solved, but I didn't understand well since your image is no more in minus servers I think :(

The screenshot which I later removed simply showed a very old (fallback) window theme.
However, I discovered later that it was because I have chosen to display window buttons on the top-left corner.
So it might be a good idea to warn (potential) users that this theme will only work with buttons on the right.
Perhaps you might also consider to support both options in this elegant theme of yours.
Thanks a lot.

So I'm guessing if your problem is actually different (but anyhow you solved it changing titlebar buttons), or it is what you explained before but my default configuration overcame it for reasons that I ignore.
So, if it's the former case, probably the best thing is doing nothing (since your problem is not so common); if it's the latter case, I should really do what you suggested me since it's my solution that is not so common!
I actually don't know what to do :)

Nevertheless, we can perhaps make some use of this experience.
I thought your nice window visual on the left would swap places with the buttons on the right when the user chooses the buttons to be displayed on the left, but it also remains there, and as a result this version doesn't look the same as the default version. It then becomes more difficult to see the buttons, and that nice visual is somewhat obscured by the buttons at the foreground.
I understand that it might be a little complicated to mirror that visual on the right when left titlebar button layout is selected, but I'm making this suggestion so that perhaps something good may come out of all this fuss I have caused ;-)
Kind regards...
