Hi I have little problem, i dont have all icons ;/ look at my desktop -> http://imgur.com/HeBC4 can u help me? :)

vicviper

I'm not sure. It's buggy on certain distributions, and neither a complete set. It should do better now that I set it to inherit the default.

jummy

Can you please post a link to the font?

Very nice theme, but the mediafire page isn't working properly for me, the file apparently exists, but the download never starts.

maxfact

Exucuse my ignorance but how do you unpack the file txz which is what I downloaded??

vicviper

It's a tar.xz file. If xz is installed 'tar xJf' should unpack it. I have a macros of it and forgot about it. I will upload as bzip2 instead.

I really love this theme, and tried to fix some of the broken icons. This is what I did: Add the following line scalable/places to Directories in your index.theme. Or just copy, and replace the old line with this one: Directories=scalable/places,scalable/apps,scalable/devices,scalable/emblems,scalable/filesystems,scalable/mimetypes,16x16/apps,192x192/apps,24x24/apps,32x32/apps,48x48/apps,64x64/apps,72x72/apps,96x96/apps,scalable/xfce,scalable/categories Also add these lines to your index.theme: [scalable/places] Size=128 Context=Places Type=Scalable Make some new symbolic links: cd ~/.icons/FinalOrder ln -s scalable/filesystems/gnome-fs-directory.png scalable/places/folder.png ln -s scalable/filesystems/gnome-fs-trash-full.png scalable/places/user-trash-full.png ln -s scalable/filesystems/gnome-fs-desktop.png scalable/places/user-desktop.png ln -s scalable/devices/gnome-dev-harddisk.png scalable/devices/drive-harddisk.png I haven't fully tested it myself, but this temporarily seems to work on my system (xUbuntu 9.10). I'll update this post when I encounter any problems or when I find a better solution.

vicviper

Thanks. I tried to add these fixes.

I really love this icon theme, it's really the best I've seen so far. Only some icons are not loading in since I'm using xubuntu. Is there any easy solution to solve this problem?

RoninSage

xroox

vicviper

Far too late of a reply and I doubt it matters but the answer is Aurora modified as b&w.

Even unfinished this is the best XFCE iconset I've ever seen. Congrats!

astral503

Most of these are d3w aren't they? If so, the d3w GTK theme should have some of the action icons you're looking for. (If you can find it. I've been looking around and I can't. :( )

vicviper

d3w? I don't think so, at least I've never heard of it. I believe it was a loose set of icons for Windows which I don't exactly remember where I got them from, but all you see is mostly what was there with a few custom ones here and there. But there were no navigation icons. I have some basic ones for back/forward and such, but those alone will just make things look out of place and worse than leaving it.

marvin

but it has compatibility problems. No, seriously - this theme actually makes XFCE look good. But it needs action icons and other GTK compatibility stuff, very badly; otherwise applications use fallback icons, which look like garbage.

vicviper

I agree. I would like to actually complete this set with at least the most obvious gtk stuff covered but it's hard to find great icons that match this. Other than that, I'll have to create them myself. Not sure if I could do that many icons satisfactorily. Seems to me like adding mediocre stuff that's out of place is worse than leaving it alone.

landroni

Please keep up the good work. The theme looks much better than any default themes.

Very nice theme. <3 Motoko :)))

Uhh... hi! I've been windows free since nov 2007 and hav used ubuntu since aug 2007 but I have only used gnome and my eee pc arrived this morning and is now running eeeXubuntu 7.10. I was just wondering, how do you install themes in xfce??

vicviper

To make an icon theme available you can download an archive to your home folder then extract it into .icons by opening a terminal and running: tar -xf Filename.tbz2 -C .icons (If by chance it does not exist, create it first with 'mkdir .icons') To install it on all users, as root, change to /usr/share/icons ('cd /usr/share/icons') then extract it there ('tar -xf Filename.tbz2') For themes, substitute the icons directory with themes

An Icon Theme should have a valid .theme file among its files and aim to be complete for desktop use under Gnome or KDE Plasma.

If it contains only a single icon or a small set of icons, please use the Icon Sub-Sets or Single Icon/Logo categories instead.
