I really like your window buttons..
Thank you! :)
... you took my style, removed all the important source files, added some changes to the menu and released it under your name. Furthermore you are perky enough to release it under a BSD license, but lack courage to name the original author and keep all files which were originally included. This is what I call "not nice". Do not pretend you made it in February 2006 since the style was released on the end of June 2006. You didn't even change the image names itself. I personally appreciate if people enhance or adapt things to their needs - all my styles are prepared for this purpose, but I cannot stand people who break my idea of "open work". For all who are interested in the original fluxbox style - packed with the complete .xfc file for the GIMP - it can be found here: http://tenr.de/styles/searchstyle.php?stylename=nails Regards from the initial creator, Tenner p.s: Even the changes to the menu look like adapted from this style: http://tenr.de/styles/searchstyle.php?stylename=aurora, although I can't prove it, it's made with the help of fluxbox's native resources.
I'll start with the end. >p.s: Even the changes to the menu look like adapted from this style Not really, I don't know about this style and even never downloaded the tarball you pointed the link at. >but I cannot stand people who break my idea of "open work". this is my fault, I fixed the license. Really sorry for this (prolly cause I share everything I have with BSD/ISC license and have just forgotten about it, cause it's been long time since I modified it) >Do not pretend you made it in February 2006 since the style was released on the end of June 2006. this is just a theme config file, I made it in Feb'06 (see below) >you took my style, removed all the important source files, added some changes to the menu and released it under your name. look, if you see the desc -- it says "My fluxbox theme going and improving since 2004." That means that I started my own "theme" in 2004. I took some graphic files, combined them and edited a bit. I didn't "remove" anything from your theme. Again. I just took the images I liked and adopted for my config file. Thanks an sorry for incomprehension.
Maybe I was to harsh in the first place. Let me clear things up a bit. All images - nevertheless you changed the menu - and obviously most of the style you put on this site here was taken from my work. This is no problem for me. As I mentioned my styles are made to be ripped off. The part that made me mad was that you released it a) under the BSD license, which demands to include the original license b) removed the .xcf files from your tarball, which are indeed the "sources" if you will c) removed my name and the origin of the original file(s) You might say I'm petty about such "small" things such as a little style, but I take such small things as serious as I take big things such as GIMP, GNOME, KDE and alike. I was not out to insult anyone, I just wanted to put things right. Regards, tenner
>You might say I'm petty about such "small" things nah, it's a thing where the "size" doesn't matter ;^) b) removed the .xcf files from your tarball, which are indeed the "sources" if you will well, no.. personally for me the sources are only(!) xpm (unlike, for example png) files (have you ever tried to open them with a text editor?), but of course not GIMP xcf files. So I repeat: I didn't remove, but didn't include them for unneedness >I was not out to insult anyone, I just wanted to put things right. no, no, everything's ok!
Good use of Artwiz and subtle but effective colors. I like it. :)
Thanks! ;^)
