To change the photo is a new creation.
But the original was not released under the GPL, so your version is a breach of copyright.
I know it sounds absurd and is quite annoying for all of us, but that's the fact.

How can this be GPL? Unless you took the photo or something similar you can not release this under the GPL, because it is not your creation!
