If you take a sharp photo and then perform a Gaussian blur, you'll get something different than an originally out-of-focus photo.

This photo was taken during the departure of ferry from Copenhagen to Poland. The photo was denoised, and it was the only (gnu) image manupulation performed on it. After putting it as your wallpaper you might get an impression that your windows and icons are near on a view of a far harbor.
