For those who noticed an update with today's date on it - I updated the description only.
I think it's "GREAT".... Don't let those who don't like SCI FI get you down. If liking SCI FI makes you a NERD, then there's an awful lot of us. Look at the stats at the Movies? The majority of the time if a SCI FI is playing, It out sells any of the others going. I love SCI FI but have very little time to watch it, But my wife watches them quite a bit, and I dwnld for her.. THANKS AGAIN and keep up the good work, SCI FI or not...
Good comments. Yes, lots of sci-fi stuff in the theaters. I heard somewhere that "Back to the Future" popularized time travel and put it in the main stream. The first guy who posted was just a troll. I saw he registered the prior day, had posted six comments - all negative.
Though it could use the addition of Sliders (Quinn or Rembrant maybe?), Firefly/Serenity (Mal, Wash or Kaylee), Torchwood (Jack) and Quantum Leap (Al). Also I'm not sure but I don't think there's an incarnation of The Doctor in it, but maybe I just missed him (or one of his companion's is in it?). Heh, its funny, right before I saw this I was watching Seven Days.
I gotta add some suggestions for filling out the edges maybe. How 'bout some of the old Quinn/Martin productions? like The Invaders, The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (gotta show the computer exploding), My Favorite Martian, Lost in Space. um, let's see, The Prisoner, Coronet Blue, Knight Rider, Superman (b/w). And there's a bunch of European productions that I know less. Those would be fun. Should animation be included? Jetsons, Space Cadets, ...probably not. Maybe I should get busy and actually CONTRIBUTE something to this board. Naawww.
Thanks for your suggestions, but my friend made it around 2001; I just happened to have it backed up on a CD. Before I uploaded it to kde-look, I used the GIMP to fill out the edges to make it 1024x768. I'll change the license to the one that allows derivatives. I'm sure my friend won't mind.
This collage is really neat. It definitely goes into my collection. I barely remember half of these. Could you post a key somewhere? That wouold be lots of fun too. They say that when you get old, the second thing to go is your memory. I can't remember the first thing. ;-) Thanks loads for the posting.
A key? I suppose that would be good, but my buddy did this so unless he sends me one, I couldn't help you there. I recognize several of the characters, but he was into some different fantasy and sci-fi shows than me. I can give you a couple hints; it includes Farscape, Seven Days and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World. Those are at least the probably lesser-known or more obscure shows. No problem identifying Xena, right? :)
I think its well done. Very nostalgic. It does make for a great sci fi wallpaper during a sci fi marathon. I use an Ark Linux computer as a home entertainment center. This is the wallpaper I'm going to use for the marathon. Thanks and well done.
You're welcome, and thank you for your comment. I'll be sure to pass it along to my friend who made it.
This is the perfect wallpaper for nerds who have old computer monitors. Seriously, what were you thinking?
