Ubuntu was used because it is the one I am currently experiencing right now. :P I will be reworking them with more distributions.

I like the background pattern, but please remember that this is GNOME look, not 'Ubuntu' look, and you have just cut out the over-riding majority of distributions by making yours specific to a single one. Furthermore, it could be said that "freedom...Ubuntu" is slightly ironic given the history of closed-shop coding, secret trademark negotiations and the inclusion (or at least promotion) of a *lot* of non-free software by default. But again, nice bg and +1
