"G6" for GNOME & Xfce4
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
"G6" is a Theme set which I've created for the "GNOME 2.x Desktop Environment" and for the "Xfce 4.x Desktop Environment"
Theme contains:
- GTK 2.x Theme
- Metacity Theme
- Xfwm4 Theme
"G6" is a heavy modified "Smooth" theme, that I created long time ago (now obsolete...).
All images attached to this "G6" Theme set are hand drawn from scratch - nothing remixed or copied.
I'm using "Gentium" font and the "GNOME-Noble" icon set.
Metacity Theme is prepared to left-side buttons arrangement. The desired order is: "Close", "Maximize", "Minimize" - for ergonomics and by referring to primary colors: "RED", "GREEN" and "BLUE".
To set this desired arrangement, run the Terminal program from the System Menu, copy this command line:
gconftool-2 --set '/apps/metacity/general/button_layout' --type string 'close,maximize,minimize:' &
and paste it into Terminal. Confirm by "Enter" button. This will set the Metacity Window Manager into desired buttons layout (RGB).
The Xfwm4 Window Manager Theme does not require any button positioning, but for nice looking of the maximized window border display, you have to change this:
System Menu -> Settings -> Window Manager -> the "availability" bookmark
- set the "hide borders of maximized windows" as "off".
All default theme colors can be changed into any new - choose "Colors" bookmark from the "Appearance" preferences and set a new one.
Extended instructions are included into theme archive.
For verify the integrity of the "G6.tar.bz2" file:

According to users response:
* new "arrow" image - this will remove the display problems with arrows in some programs, which do not have full compatibility with more complex GTK 2.x themes
* removed the "index.theme" - this is useful, but without this - new theme will keep current settings for fonts, cursors and icons
Sorry for inconvenience.
~ 20 Feb 2011 ~
* color adjustment (gtkrc) for better visibility - tool tips/prelight
* progress bars are improved
* active tab's are improved
~ NOTHING MORE TO IMPROVE ~

Never say never...
* transparent entry instead of colorized -> this will remove white squares from the inside (when inactive)
Thanks, Andrey!

9 Going by the screenshots, I'm in love with this. However, I'm unable to use it because MATE uses GTK3. Is it possible for you to remake this for GTK3? I hope it isn't too much to ask.
Nice theme! Yet need for good google chrome scrollbars with the theme :)
Yes, those scroll bars are not clear enough, and no matter which GTK theme is currently chosen.
I 'm using it on my debian...
Nice themes... :D
