Description: Influenced by Apple's Aqua user interface. These look great as KDE kicker panel backgrounds. These were designed by myself using only GIMP 1.2.3. Their are seven in all. Colors: Sapphire, Aqua, Ruby, Emerald, Platinum, Copper, and Gold. All backgrounds are in "png" format, Hope you enjoy them!.Last changelog:
Copper has now been added. And a simple installation information file for KDE has been added as well.
cool backgrounds, I really like them!
But recent KDE-releases are always drawing a frame line above kicker in the same color as "windows backgrounds" that you can set up in kcontrol. Is there any way to disable this frame line?
Right now it looks like this:

Any idea how to get rid of that line? Which config file is responsible for that?
I do not know how to install this stuff....could someone give me a clue...in-fact i cant install ne of the "KDE Improvements".
whenever i unzip the directory and do ./configure --prefix=/[where my kde bin directory is] it gives me an error saying that the prefix specified does not have the KDE headers required. please someone help me with this. I am using SuSE 8.2.
thanks a lot
It's very easy to install. Unzip it anywhere you want. Open the KDE Control Center and go to Look and feel - Panel. Set the checkbox "Use background image" in the groupbox "Panel background". Then browse to the file and click Apply.
You can also install KDE panel background manager and copy the backgrounds to the pics/custom subdirectory. You can get it at:

The platinum color seems to be the most popular. Depending on your wallpaper and windows borders the others look good as well. Like you said. It all depends on your mood.
Ive added these to the panelshademanager/pics file so I can change the colour of kicker to match my mood. The silver one is just what I was after for my chrome themed desktop.
