Description: This is a patch for KDE 3.3.x which makes KDE behave like WinXP when logging out. That means, the screen is faded into gray within a defined time (here: 5 seconds). Currently KDE only makes the screen gray at once... I didn't like that, so I wrote this patch. Tell me whether you like this one!Last changelog:
Probably you could imitate the action of an old TV when it's switched off.
That means the picture of the desktop getting smaller and smaller over a black background. At the end a spot of just a few pixels that remains for a sec or two on a black screen...
Wow, that's hard to explain the correct way :-)

I agree. I like the Windows XP effect, but we should do all to be original.
What about the new fade effect which is used in the new Kicker for KDE 3.4?

I don't know how this would be performance wise when done over the whole screen, but i think that would look funny... :-)
Another idea would be to not slowly fade the whole screen to grey, but beginning at the top and going down the screen. Like a shadow which comes from the top and make all look grey. To be visually more attractive it should have a transition between color and grey when moving from top to bottom. I hope you understood my idea... :-)
Maybe you can make a control center module for this where people can choose wich effect they want. What might be cool is to have an effect when you login on KDE??

yep its cool, but as said above, it would be best if multiple effects were available to choose from in a kcontrol module... anyway nice work!
but making something original whould rock...
I'd rather love to see something unique instead.. sorry, I feel KDE needs to find it's own style, not duplicating everything in XP here..
that's right, but I just like that... maybe one day i've got another idea... :-)
