Description: I was wondering if anybody has ever thought to add a button on window deco to send that window to systray. Does anybody know how to do that? I haven't much experience with programming but maybe somebody could take this idea and add this feature (or maybe just tell me where i can find some info to do that).
For all of you that have dreamed of, it really exists :
http://alltray.sourceforge.net
it permits you to put any application in tray, and te close button of window don't really close the application. A tray behaviour...
For example, I did not found a way to put thunderbird in tray...
now i simply start :
alltray thunderbird
and it is done :D
There's something quite similar to your wish in kde 3.3 beta1!!!There's an option called "Place in system tray" available from "menu editor" (or from the propreties of an icon placed on the desktop) that allows you to dock an app in system tray. I tried it with konsole and firefox and it worked but not with konqueror...i will do a bug report)
It's not yet implemented in kwin but i think it will take little effort to realize it!!!
kde developers RuLeZ!!!
keep up the good work, boyZ!!!

but still i don't know from were to start to do such a thing...maybe kwin has to be patched? or i could add that in a windeco? i'll look for answers:)
I think the best is to overload the behaviour of the yellow button instead of adding a new button.
Yeah, I wanted that feature many times :)
I totally agree it's something that would be very usefull !
