I think too manu space is lost. There was, I think, a chatwindow project like this one with a panel on the side but I can't remember if it's still alive ...
naah, I don't think that anybody would bother even on 17˝ or 19˝ screens. It's nice to have all controls by hand.
But if someone doesn't like it, it should be optional, so they can remove it!

I like that much better than the current Kopete windows by far less cluttered
I really like that "history" button. Its good to see from where you can read what you have typed.
would be very nice to have this in kopete... nice and simple.
I like that kind of very simple and pure interface (but I understand it may not please everybody) Is it possible to have even the menubar removed ?
There's a "Hide Menubar" item in the menubar for a reason

I like, it. Except I'd mirror it where the buddy icon is on the left side :) Looks much cleaner than it does currrently.
I like it... very nice. Looks much more intuitive? to me.
