Description:

This patch add animation support for the kdm logo, support GIF and MNG (I hope your QT is compile with Gif support)

/! kde 3.3 users must download the second file (thanks to �smileaf)
Installation guide :
unzip the patch
get and untar kdebase sources
cd kdebase-3.x.x && patch -p1 -i path_to_the_patch
./configure
goto in kcontrol directory and make, and go in kdm directory and make, finish with make install in the kdm directory

debian people can add to the source.list file :
deb http://ftp.nyo.fr unstable main
Be careful all kdebase is present, just update kdm

well, both pictures (background and catgirl) are nice, where could we find them (and more?)...

and btw, do you have a clue where I could find (free) animated mng's?

I cant find the deb on debianfr.net; not manually (only a bunch of page-not-found's, and I dont understand french anyway) and not with apt-get or synaptic.

second problem: damn, where can I find mng's??? some nice login faces?

Arg, kdebase has been updated, so I need to rebuild the packages.

When I wrote this patch kde 3.4 isn't present, but when i have time I look at CVS head a look if the new kdm accept animation, else I will try to patch again :)

this is only for kde 3.3 users.

I don't think, I don't see referee to movie like mpeg file in the Qt documentation. You can convert your movie on a big gif :).
Someone has really tested the patch ?

Tested and confirmed to work. I had to modify it a bit to make it work on 3.3.0_rc2 but it still works. :-)

In a manner of speaking, MNG files are movies. The MIME type says it all (video/mng.)
