Description: Konqueror Anti-Phishing Toolbar is an addon for the Konqueror browser which utilises the Open Phishing Database to provide the user with information and tools that help protect against phishing.
Note that Konqueror Anti-Phishing Toolbar requires libphish, a cross-platform library to interact with the Open Phishing Database. Libphish can be downloaded from the homepage.Last changelog:

I don't like toolbars of any kind, because they mostly take up space. Is there a way you could display this info in the status bar?
Add an option or something.
br
Currently it is a toolbar, but in the long run I am planning to change that and make it reside in the status bar instead. Obviously this will save up a lot of real estate.
As to the question of making it an option, I think it can only be either a toolbar or a status bar extension, and the latter seems preferred, so it probably won't stay in toolbar form.
There's currently no schedule for this change, though.
Karpion has just succesful compiled on FreeBSD 5.5-PRE with KDE 3.5.1 and QT 3.3.6. It will be submitted into a FreeBSD ports tree shortly. Good work :-)
meni,
Is the database downloaded at the initial startup or do I have to wait for the first 30 mins to pass? The reason I ask is because every site that I visit has "Risk Level: Unknown" associated to it. Just wondering. Thanks.
The database is downloaded at startup if you're in Offline mode, which is the default.
You can change the Running Mode to Online and see if that works.
I've switched modes and still nothing. Is there a way to verify that the database has been downloaded? Also, I am behind a F5 cache that requires authorization. Not sure if that may be the problem but again, if there is a log file somewhere or if I can issue a manual command to watch the output, that might help. Thanks.
I think in this case it is supposed to be disruptive, and to prevent easy use of the site, and to discourage users from doing what they have done again.
In this special case, a popup may actually be a good thing.
Hi, this is a very good work and tool.
I'd like to know if it is possible de to colorize the konqueror URL bar and make it red when detecting a phishing site. I don't know if you have access to the url bar widget.
Hi,
Glad you like it :)
As far as I know, it is not currently possible for a Konqueror extension to change the color of the URL bar at all.
If it were posible, then such a feature would be very useful indeed.

I heavn't tested it yet, but it looks really nice to me. This should be integrated in KDE 3.5.3, shouldn't it?

Popups look ugly and are bad from a usability perspective. There must be a more convinient solution.
