Description:

I make some hacks to shadowfade patch to work with KDE 3.5.1.

Warning: Use this patch with caution, it works for me, but I cannot grant it works for you. Note I`m not the original patch author, I just modified it.

Is there any chance to get this for KDE 3.5.2? I tried the diff on it, but it does not work anymore... I am also searching for a working translucent selection rectangle patch. Tried the one from Ubuntu, but it does not work on a vanilla KDE 3.5.2. source... Is there maybe a place on the net where i can find more of these eyecandy patches?

Fading is just working for me in kde 3.5.1. No patch needed here. So what's the deal with this patch?

I'm pretty sure that it makes the fade smoother and more of a gradient look. I'm compiling it now.

Yes, it adds a blur effect associated with fade.

I think you're a little bit confused. Copyright and GPL are two completely different things.
Better explained: you, as the software author, have the rights to decide what to do with your own software, and this "what" could be put it under GPL or any other legally valid license on this planet.
