http://debian.neo.pl/ doesn't exist
Running SimplyMEPIS 3.3 with this deb package and it works perfectly. I though there might be a bug and wanted to inform: be sure to Set - Style (Baghira) > Effects > Menu Effect to "Disable" This stops color change artifacts on some random menu selections (like under K_icker > System > etc...) My style: I set Window deco to follow Style and set style for "Brushed". With the RGB color setting I made the buttons a Gel Blue using the default "Aquarius" Widget Sytle. Try it. ..and no, I don't want a Mac. I do like the Style. I like my choice of hardware too. :) While this is all personal preference, you'd be suprised how far these wonderful looks will go to promote Linux. People have no idea how good it can be. In the end I have the elements of Mac and XP I like. God Bless
anyone has built a Debian 0.5b package? What's happening?
hi, after apt-get update, I got this: debian:/home/...# apt-get source kwin-style-baghira ... (the download was sucessfull) sh: line 1: dpkg-source: command not found Entpack-Befehl ,,dpkg-source -x kwin-style-baghira_0.5-2.dsc" fehlgeschlagen. (decompress-order failed) E: Kindprozess fehlgeschlagen (child-prozess failed) but dpkg is installed, what is wrong? Greetings Hansaplast
I'll admit it. I have a horrible time compiling anything. I think for the eight months since I began using linux I have gotten precisely 0 packages to install from a tarball. I tried installing baghira and it was no different. I got some weird QT errors and then it stopped. I can post them if you think they'll be of any use, but I doubt it. It's probably just me. My question is, does anyone out there have a packaged version of baghira 5.0? I'd thank you forever if you did. I might even be able to host it for awhile too. I've got a 20gb bandwidth limit. So, if anyone does have a copy, could they please send it to haas;;master;;@;;gmail.com without the semicolons of course. Thank you, Harrison P.S. If you want me to host it, please contact me.
You must type: apt-get -b source kwin-style-baghira
ok thanks... now it starts compiling... and fails. did any1 succeed in compiling this?
deb http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free change this to deb src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free they have stopped providing packages only source is available so add this and do apt-get update apt-get source package name apt-get build-dep package name apt-get -b package name
thanks for the hint. But unfortunateley I don't get it to work. this is what I do: apt-get update - no problem apt-get source kwin-style-baghira - no problem apt-get build-dep kwin-style-baghira - doesnt find any dependencys apt-get -b kwin-style-baghira - throws error: invalid operation kwin-style-baghira... What am I doning wrong? (debian sid kde3.2)
and when i run apt-get update i get this "W: Couldn't stat source package list http://mentors.debian.net unstable/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/mentors.debian.net_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) " what am i doing wrong? or is your thing down?
this thing does not download and install... using debian sarge here, but that isn't the problem.
It appears that mentor.debian.net is no longer allowing access to these awesome packages. If anyone would be willing to provide host space on an established server that would be killer. Contact carlos@wfmh.org.pl if you might have a solution!
for updating this again! I've been checkinstall-ing the previous few baghira's, but I prefer an "professional" version ;-)
Greetings, eh? Baghira 0.4c has been out for a little bit. Will the .deb be updated soon to that version? Thanks for doing this, BTW. Makes it a lot easier for us to try out new styles.
Hi, I'd really like to see this style on my desktop, but I' m having difficulties trying to install it. So far I can install either the style or the window decors, but not both. The error message is this (I'm using a german system, but I tried to translate it...): dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/kwin-decor-baghira_0.4.6_i386.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite »/usr/lib/kde3/kwin_baghira_config.la« , which is in packet kwin-style-baghira dpkg-deb: killed subprocess with signal (data transfer interrupted (broken pipe)) errors occuered processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/kwin-decor-baghira_0.4.6_i386.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) What's the problem with this? Also, when I install the window decors, I can use them and they work fine. But when I install the style it does not appear in the styles section of my control center. Thanks for any help.
Oh, yeah. I'm using Debian sarge with kernel 2.6.6.
As a workaround you could do a "dpkg -i --force-overwrite packagename". The package should reside in your apt repository. Anyway, great work! Would be cool to see the splash-screen some color schemes and the wallpaper as deb packages too. When will it be in debian ? 8).
Hi, Sorry for my bad english :-) I can use your style with kdelibs 3.2.2? or need 3.2.3 ? when I launch apt-get install, message error report "depends on kdelibs4 3.2.3" I use Debian Sarge 19062004 Bye :-)
Technically it shall work with your version of libraries. But you probably shall rebuild the package or fix the dependency by hand. Or upgrade your libs ;)
Hi, Probably the stupidest question so far, but I've install Baghira 0.3t, restarte kde and X for like a thousand times, and everythin seems to work, exept for this neat brushed metal background . In stead I'm still seeing the standard 'stripes'. Is there a special option to get everything brushed ? Thx
I installed it, but it make a menu on the Apparence & Themes, and not a Style on the Style menu...it show some configurations but they are useless...any ideas?, i use Debian SID
you need to restart kde (not x) so logout and in ;)
I even shut down the computer, but nothing happend, its the same, i dont get bhagira on Styles, y get it directly under the Apparance & themes menu..
Hello, I just downloaded and installed 0.3t (together with kde from debian testing/unstable). The windeco works fine but settings I make in the style dialog have no effect. :( What can I do? I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT. :)
It works! I turned the computer on and tried it again. Seems as if I just had to reboot my machine (strange because restarting kde only did not help yesterday)... Thx dude! Pls keep on maintaining this package (it should be in the official debian if you ask me)... :)
