Description:

Widget style based on the Plastik style. This style incorporates/combines components from the lipstik and PlastiQ styles. Krisp also has the following features:
--all new menu bar widgets
--a bunch of other small tweaks
--some things I'm probably forgetting

Special thanks to Patrice Tremblay and Martin Beck for their great work.

This is my first attempt at a kde style, so I hope to get lots of feedback.

NOTE: version 0.1 will overwrite a previously installed Lipstik style! This is a temporary nusance that will be taken care of as soon as I can find the time.

I love the Screen Shot and a GLIMPSE of KRISP 0.1. But as soon as i choose/apply krisp kcontrol crashes.

Please support KDE 3.4. Thank you very much for a beautiful STYLE KDE deserves!!!

This is something I have yet to look into. I'm not yet running 3.4 myself, so I haven't been able to play with it.

p.s. I noticed you posted a Krisp TGZ for slackware and have it listed for KDE 3.4. Does that mean you got it working with 3.4?

I don't know why but krisp 0.1 segfaults on my kde 3.4.0...
Anybody has the same problem?

It makes me little sad, because this theme looks nice :)

Thanks for the links.

I have found a problem with krisp. I am using kdm and for the options available for the widgets to be used for login dialog, there is no option for krisp, instead another option lipstic is listed, which works but not like krisp.

After I installed Krisp, there was no error. Then I went to Control Center (I'm on Suse 9.2) theme manager and the list was empty. How to apply this theme to Suse?

You will not find Krisp under themes as it it a widget style. After installing it, it should appear in the 'style' dialog in the 'widget style' drop-down list.

No. To install just do the normal ./configure; make; make install

Works "./configure" but at "make", after few lines it stops an say that something like "lipstik.moc" is missing...

i really like the combination of Lipstik and PlastikQ ! though, i would prefer the gradient-style for buttons, scrollbars.. like current plastik-style. also the Popup-Menu in Lipstik [like shown in 2cd screenshot of lipstik] looks more _nice_ but maybe that relies on your stronger blue color-theme? also white arrows on pulldown-menus [like shown in 1. Screenshot of PlastikQ] looks also very _good_.
the Hover-effect when the mouse-pointer is moved over toolbar-buttons in current plastik-style is also nice :]

In future versions, I see this becoming a configurable option.

Indeed. I was going for a unified theme here where everything takes on the same feel. I find that user interfaces become surprisingly enjoyable to use when everything is consistent and has the same feel. I am actually in the process of expanding on this in future versions. As for the specific menu style that you like, it would be easy to make this style into an option.

Agreed. In Krisp (and I believe in PlastikQ as well) this is based on the text highlight color that you have configured in the Control Center. Again, this is for consistency. White arrows simply require a white text highlight color.

Krisp uses the same style for this.

So to recap, I've got a lot of great ideas (I think) for where I want to go with the Krisp style. Hopefully I should be making another release before long, so stay tuned! Thanks for your comments!!

I think the highlight on a selected submenu looks nice, but the menu separator bars (Most Used Applications, All Applications, etc) are too busy.

Maybe if they didn't extend over the icon bar on the left and just highlighted the text area of the separator, they'd be less intrusive.

Could you add small thing, tweak so you could make top-bar bigger (hight), like KDE 3.1.3 version?

For those of you who don't know. There is a chance that Control Center will crash upon applying Krisp (and some other styles?). Not to worry, this is completely harmless!!! It's just an annoyance. The style will still be applied (restart kde to fully apply it).

I'm trying to track this down. Anyone with info on this, please make a post. I've noticed that so far on the computers I've tested as well as from the reports I've gotten, it could be confined to Slack-10/kde-3.3.1

i dont use this style (i dont really like plastik and such), but from the screenshots i can tell that it is one of the better plastik-based styles.

when you fix that problems i offer to do the slack package for your style, just send it to me by email when you're done and i'll do the rest
