I like the logo... but I got two issues with it. First of all, isn't it the same font type microsoft uses to present their old "Microsoft Works" office package?
And saying that open source "works!" seems almost that you trying to convince somebody that it does, while their not believing you.
Anyway, I love the logo without the works thing. Maybe you could post one without it.
