I don't think it's a good idea to bring any kind of political discussion to this website, but I feel obligated to make things clear. The Ukraininan opposition uses all kinds of dirty methods to achieve it's goals. There are gangs of athletic young men walking on the streets of Kiev and everybody who is not wearing the ribbon is beeing confronted and forced to do so. Is this democracy?
Also there are huge parts of Ukraine that do not support the opposition but western media seems to forget about that. The opposition doesn't neccesarily mean 'good'. This is not 1991 anymore.

You'll be pleased to know that nobody is forced to wear ORANGE ribbons in the Ukraine. If anyone is forced into doing something, it's the coalminers from Donetsk, trainfuls of whom are brought to Kyiv, resorted to sleep in carriages with no food or sanitary facilities and forced to support f...Yanukovich. Anyone who has been to an orange demonstration will tell you that people here are filled with joy, hope and compassion, even for pro-Yanukovich campaigners, some of whom are rarely seen in the centre talking to the Orange. I've just came back from one.
Before making claims, make an effort and show some interest and read or watch the news anywhere within +/- 40deg. from the equator. Here's to get you started - bbc.co.uk

Well - then what is democracy?
At the very minimum this
means fair and free elections
to be held. The opposition doesn't
even demand that they automatically
get to power - they just want
fair elections under
OCSE supervision.
Most probably Russia is afraid of
the outcome: I'm absolutely
sure the ballots have been
tampered with and a re-vote
will clearly show this.

Does the world need another american-style "democracy" when there is no real choice? IMO, both candidates are bad, as Russian domination isn't any better or worse than the president licking Bush's ass. In my opinion, the president should be someone else - the one who will bring true prosperity and independence to the region.
P.S. I don't live in Ukraine, but my grandparents came from there, and I do care about what is going on there.

..for everyone supporting
democracy in Ukraine!
It's good to know that there
are still people defending
democracy and that political
leaders cannot manipulate
everyone. I'm watching in
amazement how all those people
stay out in the blistering cold
to support their cause.
I hope they will finally
win. Whatever the outcome of
this - the world will now look
much more closely what's going on
there - which is already a big success by itself.
BTW - just out of interest: What
is "TAK"? You see it on the news
on nearly every flag. Is it the
name of the opposing party or
does it have a meaning - or
both?
