Transparent Tabs
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
The point is that tabs bar is fully transparent, so you can set it's color and transparency manually (at the right on the third screenshot).
Setting are available by keyboard shortcuts. If you have them unset (default) edit ~/.kde4/share/config/yakuakerc and make your Shortcuts section look like
[Shortcuts]
options_configure=Ctrl+Shift+O
options_configure_keybinding=Ctrl+Shift+K
Restart yakuake, press Ctrl+Shift+K to configure hotkeys or Ctrl+Shift+O to open settings.

Checked it: transparency worked only under Oxygen-style.
I use Bespin or QtCurve style and here it don't work.

I get a fake transparency under the same parameters, so the same with any other.
Or so it should be?

Try appending this lines (or modifying existing ones):
Quote:
[Shortcuts]
options_configure=Ctrl+Shift+O
options_configure_keybinding=Ctrl+Shift+K
Restart yakuake.
