I love these Icons! True artist. Can someone email me these at robd1012@gmail.com ?
The icons are fine, I like them very much, but please, change the terminal icon, the DOS prompt is so ulgy :-)
Dead link ... :-(
You can get them from here: http://debs.livecd.net/stl21/exquisite-0.1.tar.bz2
Hi, could you send me the these, too? Thanx in advance Michael
Hey there... I made a couple modifications to the theme so it would better integrate into GNOME 2.10 with FC4... I would like to make it available for others to check it out, but I'd rather pass it on personally at first to iron down bugs and other issues, and to properly write a Readme file which would include all pertinent aknowledgements and stuff... I only did little modifications to three icons (mouse-device, terminal & run program... I think) to the two last I changed the C:\ (DOS reminisence) to a standard UNIX $>_ and $>, and to the first I kinda did a bit of mix and match by substituing the apple in the mouse for an apple-like shaped penguin included in the Tux'n'Tosh icon theme... here are some examples of what I did: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/thetargos/icons/gnome-dev-mouse-optical.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/thetargos/icons/gnome-terminal.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/thetargos/icons/gnome-run.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/thetargos/Desktop/Exquiste-scrsht.png
Please could you send me the icon theme "Exquisite" if you have ? I love the theme, but unable to download from "Gnome-Look". probably the link is down. thanks in advance..

I really want this theme, but the site that 'download' looks off doesnt seem to exist any more. This is unfortunate because this set is the one I like best on gnome-look.
Don't remove anything. I'm by no means asking that this icon set be removed. I'm a gnome fan just like I'm a KDE fan. I was just requesting that we a as a community not overlook giving people credit for all their hard work. I hope that this icon set does well, but let's work together to insure that everyone gets credit for their work.
Am I allowed to alter the Iconset and add the missing Icons e.g.? What I really miss are the Nautilus-Arrows or the missing Icons for various Mime-Types. Are there Icons available for the mentioned missing ones or do I have to create them from scratch?
While I certainly don't mind you posting these icons, I think you should give me some credit for creating the original release for KDE. Mimin Ladha granted me permission to not only post some his icons, but also modify them, which I did. You conveniently left out the fact that what you've actually posted is a Gnome port of the KDE release, which took a lot of work to release. I'm not angry about the Gnome release, because I like the Gnome desktop. However, I'm not fan of someone ripping off someone elses work and taking credit for it without mentioning the original creator. Yes, you did mention Mimin Ladha, but I'm certain you had very little idea that many of these icons have been altered by yours truly. The least you could have done is post a link to the original release on kde-look.org.BVC had the decency to do so in his port of the Milosz_H30-D3A icon set I posted on kde-look.org and I happily gave him the distrobution specific I cons that were originally created only for KDE. To make a long story short, dont rip someone elses work without asking or at least giving them credit. I'm happy that this wa done to aid the children that lost their school, so I hope everyone that uses gnome downloads them, but let's make sure everyone get credit for their contributions to the open source community.
Do you want him to remove this icon set from gnome-look.org ? :/ It's not a little job to port an icon set... If you want to get all the credit you are free to do so, I'm sure that you will be able to make this icon set be removed from this site... Very sad story in fact... :/
I'm very sorry you feel that way. To be honest with you, I don't take much time tracking who's the original author of the icons or who modifed them on the long run. All I care is the license. As long as it's GPL it's ok. It wasn't my intention at all to take credit of the icons (everyone knows them long before I made the theme). From all my iconsets you can easily conclude that I actually take existing icons, run them through gib and make an iconset. Usually I do this for my own purposes, but I said to myself "why not share". So I did. You could have sent me an e-mail to add you instead hostily replying to a public place. I don't mind adding anyone or giving credits in that matter. I just don't bother doing it much. Is it that bad?
Not bad. It would have been only courtesy to guppetto to let him know what you were doing. You're under no obligation to so however. On the other hand, it would have been courtesy if guppetto used email instead of a public forum.
> As long as it's GPL it's ok. Too bad, that the stolen Apple Mac OS X icons in this theme are not GPL (Home, Trash,...).
this icon set is brilliant...i would love to see it complete with icons for the gnome control centre keep up the great work
Best. Icon. Theme. Yet.
hello! i trying to install it but , after extract it into /usr/share/icons, the theme applet won't show this option... Are there only 128x128 size icons? The index.theme file show other sizes but there are only 128x128 icon folder.... Regards
You must change the permission on the index.theme-file so that every user is allowed to read it. Hope it helps.
The absolutely best Icons so far , please ,please continue your fine work , these icons deserve to be completed. Thanks ,thanks ,thanks.
These icons are absolutely brilliant. Please continue developing them further. One thing to note: In the index.theme you have made a spelling error, which makes them come up as "Excuisite", rather than "Exquisite". Thanks.
