The other people are crazy... leave the round buttons. And turn your capslock off before you create the panel, OMG that looks absolutely terrible, but would look awesome in regular casing.

I love the simplicity of your theme/background/panel. This is truly a breath of fresh air. The GNOME desktop really should look more like that screenshot.

But if you really want to make it simple (clean) then don't even think about making the buttons round. Besides that I'm looking forward to it. I will change the color to white but I'm looking forward to it. ^_^

The Font is good ole' Verdana for the menu bar and Trebuchet MS for the window.

I love the minimalism and clean lines. Very nice. Can't wait for the theme to be complete.
