Anyone who can code who wants to take this up and place the buttons in their proper positions, that is, with the minimise, maximise and close buttons on the right, and the menubutton on the left...
I'm running on Mandrake 9.0 and I have kde 3.1. When I go to LookNFeel >> Windows Decoration I don't see white acqua under the listing. I do have Acqua_Ace and Acua OS K installed, but I like yours a lot better, a lot more smoother.
can you give a little more info? It should be listed as White Acqua at the end of the list. What is your distrobution, and do you have any other acqua themes installed?
Hi! I have Slackware 8.1, KDE 3.1 and the last qt package, everything is fine but when i try to compile the style this error appears:
/opt/kde/lib/libkdecore.so: undefined reference to `KStyle::defaultStyle(void)'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
A lot of times this happened to me with others things like styles and apps. How can i fix it?

I installed kdelibs-devel package but same error appears :(
I can't compile anything that uses kde, like kmess, kopete, window decorations, etc.

I can execute ./configure, make and make install without problem but i can't activate the style in kcontrol and the window decoration. There's no acqua in menu.
If anyone have an idee plz

You should rname the libray files the windec depends on to White_Aqua so that users of the original aqua windec can choose between the White-Acqua and the traditional Acqua. Installing this modified version wipes out the original because they both point to libkwinacqua and they share the same name in the desktop file. The shadowand corner implimentation for this windec is outstanding. If you implement the small changes I suggested, this windec would be perfect.
I have RH8.0 and just installed qt-3.1.1; I configure white-acqua-v2 with "--with-qt-dir" option, so it can find qt, but then it says:
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include/kde
checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... configure: error: not found - you need to install kdelibs first.
Of course kdelibs is installed (3.0.3-8)!
What do you suggest me? Thanks...
I haven't seen an error like that, although it looks like you need KDE 3.1? I haven't used this with KDE 3.0.x so maybe you can upgrade? Also I hear that RedHat 8.0 has problems with some KDE themes because RedHat hacked their own way through the unreleased version of KDE 3 at the time. I don't know if this has help any, but sorry for your touble.
After installing KDE3.1 it works with: ./configure --prefix=/usr That's the directory where KDE is installed in RH8.0. Thanks to everybody who gave me this tip.
very nice!!! Any chance you could make having a gradient on the inactive windows an option too? Not using an Aqua-like widget set, the striped bar would look more active than the gradient. :-\

I really am not sure about how to make an option for that, but the gradient idea is a good one, I hadn't really thought about it before because I thought the inactive one looked fine, but I will add that hopefully tonight or tomarrow.

BTW: I'm not a programmer, more of a novice hacker, so if anyone has tips on adding seperate options, id like to know. Maybe I can figure it out though.

I've managed to install the theme and reboot, but the theme doesn't show up under Windows Decarations. Please help...

it looks like maybe you're missing kdelibs4-devel? I'm sure it is some devel package.

If you Reboot or simply logout of you session, that should fix your problem!

I feel you're right. As soon as RH releases the KDE3.1 binaries I will try your theme. I reaaly want to!
I this problem with kdebase 3.1 so I hacked configure commented out the if block and set the variable to yes.. configured/compiled/no problem =)
