Yea, I made these icons for Windows XP quite a while ago.
Then everaldo contacted me about joining the KDE project [quite a while ago] & asked me to convert these icons for the project.
If you don't like my icons I don't have a problem with that.
But I haven't ripped them from anyone.
I don't know why this gimp here has posted them here!? They're nothing to do with him!
to make KDE look like XP. I think these icons are for WindowsXP guys. I think their purpose is to make the XP icons look like chrystal, and thus make XP look more like KDE.
i agree - whats the point of making your linux box look like crappy XP anyway? From some of the better screenshots I've seen, KDE can look a hundred times better than XP. Stop this XP cloning nonsense.
I second that XP motion. I'm getting sick of people infecting linux with this XP bullshit. The only thing that I consider good of XP is the clear type fonts. And that color fade stuff they did with the windows is something we should be able to do much better.

Linux is viable. Windows is viable. So is OS X and others. Get a grip and quit whining about Windows. Nobody is "infecting" Linux by offering a look and feel that equates to 98%+ of the desktops on this planet.

Someone should contact Everaldo / Crystal team so they can take further steps against this person.
Below is the Readme that was included in the ZIP file. My favorite line: "Do not take credit for creating my icons."
And to the person who posted this here: it's a damn ZIP file containing PNG files. Maybe there are tools that can set these files as icons, but it's definitely not an KDE ICON THEME! Don't distribute CRAP!

It's just wrong to rip off other's work without giving credit to them. Everaldo makes great icons, and it's sad to see people just passing them off as though they drew them all.

Damn.. why can't someone try to create his own style? Its easy to take the icons from XP, but this is not creative. I think, much users should be more creative and produce something new. Maybe this new style is not interesting for everyone, but it is a bit more special, than a ripp-off...

Hi, if you would read some text of the crystal icon package here on kde-look you can see a list of crystal staff members. And FOOOD is part of it! JD

Half these icons are from the Crystal set. The person who made the XP theme took them from Crystal. I saw these over on WinCustomize's site.
