can you tell me how i can install my usb pendrive, or do you know a site that tells me how to do that?
you must use usb-storage module
Enabling a USB pen drive under SuSE 8.1 was as simple as pluggin it in. You may need to delete the partition and recreate it as FAT, ext3, or whatever with fdisk or other partitioning utility under Linux you choose if the OS doesn't detect the correct filesystem. I have a Memorex USB Thumbdrive 128MB with FAT32 (I communicate with Windows users) and after initially deleting the partition and recreating it with FAT32 it worked fine with hotplugging. With hotplugging you need to connect the pendrive after the OS boots, since hotplugging is a service initiated at boot-up. Look in your /etc/fstab after plugging in the USB drive to see where the drive is available and then mount it. In case I didn't specify, you only need to delete and recreate the partition the first time, not every time you use it. You may not need to even delete the partition, you lucky bastard!
see http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=53537 for installing usbstick under gentoo
tnks!
