Why say that an icon is in windows style just because it reminds a windows icon...(i don't know if this is true.. i never saw it). We use KDE, KDE can't be done by thinking "this is similar to windows", KDE is an indipendent project, if somethings looks well just use it.

Sorry... I have to agree, it reminds me strongly of the Windows logo. Especially the puzzle scheme, which is almost exactly like the MS Office Icon (minus the gear.) It is a beautiful piece of artwork, though.
...about using colors and the puzzle pieces and the perception is that it looks like Winders, however I think that Winders XP looks like a tonka toy. ;-)

I don't know what you think about this, but what about putting luci's ;) in the middle of this one. Makes it more obviously an icon for a chat program.
that such a great icon is hampered by the fact that when you mix 4 totally unrelated colors together, you get a "Windows look." I really think that these icons are great, and, ignoring the inevitable fact that they make me think of Windows, the puzzle icon is absolutely amazing - converying exactly what kopete is. BUT, unfortunately, it makes me, and I think most everyone else, think of Windows to see this :( Curse M$ for being a plague on our world. I can't express to you how much I *want* to love these icons, but it's just difficult when they remind me of Windows so much :'-(

I was trying to convey that kopete works with the 4 major IM's. Blue = MSN, Red = Yahoo, Green = ICQ, Orange = AIM.
I kinda like the puzzle style though.
The colors are much better then those in the other entry (the one from luci). But i think the gear symbol is too simple. its used everywhere in kde, and has nothing specific to do with a instant messenger.

Get rid of the second icon, it looks like Microsoft Office developers created it. It hurts my eyes! :)
