Description: This is still under construction. originally I made them for myself (being inspired by Crystal, bloody briliant) I deceided to share it. I added a few more Icons for evolution 1.2 also some new icons for gtk (i.e. the copy and paste that was missing before)
INSTALL: un-tar and then copy the files under evolution_images(NOT the whole directory) in to /your_gnome_dir/share/images/evolutio and /your_gnome_dir/share/images/evolution/buttons
and copy the files under gtkhtml-1.1_icons Directory in your /your_gnome_dir/share/gtkhtml-1.1/icons
- I say /you_gnome_dir/ because usually this directory is different depending on your distribution and installation, mine is /opt/gnome also make sure you dont go under the gnome2 directory.
Back up the evolution/images directory in-case you changed your mind.
Enjoy.Last changelog:
- more icons added for the newer version of evolution (1.2) - the gtk copy and paste, etc are added
Hey, I'm wondering if there's plans to make an update for Evolution 1.4, I'm using it now and they have different icons for Evolution. I love this set of icons, it just livens up Evolution so much, I can't stand the standard icons anymore! They seem so dead =(
Maybe I'll try to put something together, I'll let you know if I ever do it.
Hello, iam very happy about this icon theme, so i can use the power of Evolution and the look of my beautifull Crystal KDE Desktop. I created a backup and copied all icons in the Archive-File into my image directory. But not all are replaced, much icons are the gnome style. These icons are not in the package. Is my Evolution-Version (1.2.1) out of the future and at the time not all icons are replaced?
My second question, i cannot change the gnome-look of the menu. I selected Keramik win-deco, but Evolution is still gnome!
But at all, great work..
two reasons, I still haven't had the chance to add the extra images that came with the new version of evolution. I will do it as soon as I get a chance
another thing is that, the rest of the images are Stanard Gnome Buttons that evolution is using. I dont have control over those. if someone knows how to do it, please let me know and I'll get on it :-)
You mean the Gtk2 stock items?
Those can be changed as well:
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-Stock-Items.html
And with Gtk 2.4 you can possibly just use the icon-theme-stuff from freedesktop.org so that you won't have to use these .gtkrc's anymore.
(almost the same as icon themes in KDE)
Hi,
did anyone mentionned that the stop icon did not change ?
the new icon-pack contain a stop icon, but the old one (the original) doesn't ...
Is the stop icon "hard coded" in evolution ? or is it somewhere else ?
bye.
I'm geussing the ones that don't work like the cut and paste buttons for compose email are either hard coded or they are standard Gnome buttons. which kinda really sucks.
Having problems getting them installed on RH 8. I'm sure it's not the icon file, maybe a RH issue. I go to add them as you normally would, but when I click on "install icons" it takes a sec, like it normally would, but then they dont show up in the list and Evolution has the same old boring icons.....any thoughts?
You shouldn't do this with the install Icon tool, you should copy the image files in to the directory mentioned directory. read the description it tells you where to copy them.
Hi,
I installed the icons on RH 8 just put the icons under /usr/share/images/evolution
I tried the $HOME/.gnome2/share/images/evolution it did not work
Hey, nice work! I really like this.
But one thing I found a little distracting
is the high contrast in colors on the left panel.
It seems to draw your eyes towards it
and away from reading email. It seems to be
mainly the globe, maybe if they were a little darker
or something? I'm no design expert, just letting
you know how you could make this great icon set
even better!
thanks for sharing your creation...goes very well with the gtk keramik theme and the rest of the crystal icon set. I think people are looking for something like this to help merge gtk and kde apps. Who wouldn't want them to look the same? Again, nice job.

I don't seem to have a "/your_gnome_dir/share". Evo's installed icons are in /usr/share/images/evolution . I guess that will probably work.

indeed very good for an unified look of your desktop. Can't wait for somebody announces he/she crystalized the Gimp. keep on rockin' ... Fab
