Icon set for KDE 3.0 and KDE 3.1
Complete iconset with around 600 original icons. It can be used as individual icons for X desktops, or as a complete iconset for KDE 3.0-3.1 or above (new KDE features will not be iconized at this moment).
Please, read the 'readme' text file for more info.
This iconset is under LGPL. Read the 'lesser.txt' text file about the license.
Enjoy it!
Many thanks to es.kde.org to host the icons; muchas gracias people :D

Finally available as a direct download.
-Added icons for these daily use apps: Kget, Kmail, Ark, K3b
-An important change: now it's under LGPL; previously was under GPL, and changed because the LPGL it's more permissive (requested by some KDE dev, and suggested by some Gnome users too).

This iconset was stored in a external server. At this date, that server don't allow external links to their files, so this iconset can't be downloaded! I can pay for a extensive-downloaded file like this iconset, so i will appreciate any help (a server to store my files freely -or not-). Thanks for the support.

I like this iconset as much as I like OS X 10.2's icons, which are also beautiful.
I think you shouldn't make a Noia worm iconset though, not before you are able to finish this one.
To make icons smaller you can use Xnview and resize icons ina n entire folder etc.
Check it out at Xnview.com

I remember that these icons are for Windows XP though, did you make them or just repackage them for KDE? There s a portet noia warm icon set here to, even a bunch of Nokia phones :p
I think that Crystal, Slick and Noia are the best iconsets ever. I am concerend though, none is complete, Slick isn't beeing updated anymore :( there are so many great icon projects that get abandoned before becoming complete, soon they are not updated anymore. This is really sad, I hope KDE ill at least have Crystal and this great iconset complete. They both look stunning.

The original version (icon packager) will be a complete remplacement for windows OS, but don't works very well.
I also redesigned lots of icons (ie all mimetypes icons).
It must be considered as a 'enhanced' version than original version.
I will not port 'Noia for KDE' icons to Windows, because i wish to have a special edition, complete and better than others. The Noia for KDE icons will be in GNU license when i finish the complete version. This will happens very soon, i hope.
Yes i will make the other variations into a KDE icon sets, when i finish the first Noia version.
Thanks

I will release on new updates the missing icons. Please, if there's any missing icon, let me know.
I'm a designer new to Linux and KDE. For me it's very easy make new icons, but i'm not a KDE pro-user. There's some bugs:
I observed, after a reboot, that it's disapeared lots of icons. This means that i need to make lots of new icons (on kmenu specially), and the final download size will be very big! If there's any way to maintain other icons of other icon sets (the KDE originals or Cristal icons -with more icons-, for example), please let me know how! I don't like to see lots of '?' icons.
About new apps icons, there's no problem.
Jadrian, please let me know exactly how the icons appears on your desktop (i don't understand your explanation, the icons are in the most antialiased way possible). Send me a screenshot if you wish. Sincerely, the icons can be good or bad on a personal opinion, but i don't understand how can be viewed as you explain.
Finally, yes, i'm the original designer for these icons. They are originaly designed for Stardock's icon packager, and added more individualy icons after. Anyway, this version are entirelly revised, all icons polished, in some cases (mimetimes) entirely redesigned or created newly specially for KDE.
Read the 'About' text file inside (untar the file downloaded), tehre's a small 'history' about these icons.

First of all I want to thank you for this great addition to KDE icon sets. Here are a couple of hints for you (this is not supposed to be a blame but a help in getting you started with kde icons).
1. To inherit icons from other icon sets (if it is not in yours yet) you have to add the following line to your index.desktop file:
Inherits=foldername of icons to inherit
For KDE 3.1 it would look like this:
Inherits=crystalsvg
2. When you do that, the problems with this icon theme become more obvious:
2.1 No 22x22 icons. This is the standard size for all toolbars (so at least the actions folder should be converted).
2.2. No 48x48 icons. These are important for kicker, desktop and a lot of other stuff I do not remember.
2.3 If you are not sure concerning the structure of icons or which sizes you need, just go to /opt/kde/share/icons/ (or where ever it is on your pc) and then compare with the standard icon themes, e.g. hicolor or crystalsvg for kde 3.1.
3. If you want to cut down the size of your package, here are some hints:
3.1 Make the 128x128 folder an extra download. This folder is roughly 4,5 MB and most people do not use it.
3.2 Almost all of your icons are bigger than similar icons in the crystalsvg directory. Why? I haven't found out yet (Are they only bigger because they are a little more complex?) Maybe you could find out.
3.3 If you are accustomed to svg, you can always provide the whole archive as svgs and let kde do the resizing.
Okay, that's about it. Hope that helps a little. Don't stop working on Noia for kde :-), maybe even noia warm for kde.

I have no problems with other platforms/OSes that aren't Windows. I use more tima at a day a G4 with OSX (cool, but i is for work, not for fun). For fun, i play computer games, but, as a artist (or not), i like to make some 'visual enhancements' for other computer users, as a 'thanks' for the developers that are making the programs for us (all users) ;).
I think that most Windoze artists (some of them are friends for me), are making icons/skins/etcx just for have lots of downloads and popularity, and actually some of them are making icons/skins just for money.
I don't like to make sknis for money (i'm a designer and i make icons for fun and for share them). For popularity, maybe (i'm not hypocrite), fut principaly i make the icons for my personal use.
Now my installed Linux works well (thanks for the developers, before this, i never installed a correct Linux OS on my desktop), and, in agreement, i decided to port my icons to Linux, first to KDE, and after to gNome. I not only ported the icons, i enhanced them and created new designs.
I think that this first release is a success (i waited more bugs and deffects, at this point -number of downloads-)
Thanks to all people!
Other great Windows artist are planned to port their icons to KDE, but their plans are discontinued. Due to my success, i will try to atract them to Linux. But, you need to understand that maybe them will not release their icons/skins/anything to KDE.
But don't worry, this will change, sure ;)

But just to be sure, you are the one who released it for Windows, right? Because in the IconTheme (for Windows) it said that we shouldn't try and make a 'nix version, because you'd do it yourself.
So if you are this person, congrats with a nice-lookin' theme.
