Hello,
Provided here is a packaged version of the Cezanne icon theme, available as either a prebuilt set or unbuilt+script (smaller download, and easier to add additional icons to).
The set includes the latest versions of icons which I previously released as separate packages.
As usual, I welcome any comments and suggestions, so if there are any icons you would like to see added or changed, just leave a message letting me know what and/or how.
Ciao for now,
Chris
p.s. The O'Reilly icons are not included in this set,as they have to be released under a different licence.

But since the set doesn't contain any exotic icon on a KDE desktop, I recommend to use nuoveXT and everaldo's CrystalClear to efface the last traces of hicolor. Therefore, the "Inherits" line in the iconset's index.desktop is to be changed into "Inherits=nuoveXT-kde-1.6,Crystal Clear, hicolor" (of course after installing both fallback themes). That's it!

The only thing preventing me from using Cezanne as default is it's incompleteness. You can't mix it with crystal, nuvola or something.
So, I'd like to encourage you to continue your great work!

KDE no longer looks like a tool for kids, with this icon set it gets a real serious look!
Keep on working! Should become KDE default icon set in furture!

For some odd reason, most of the mime types are not set by default. Let's say I am using crystal, I switch to cezanne, restart KDE and track changes. Now, nearly all archives stay the same (crystal) and I have to edit all the filetype icons manually.
Another problem with picture mime types, for ex. all pictures use the same mime icon, I mean there is no difference between jpg, png, gif, ai, psd and bmp files. And I have to set them manually again.
If someone knows how this can be fixed, please inform us here.
I tried both installation methods (with theme manager), manually copying files, I even generated a theme from scratch, nothing helps.
What could be the problem?
Thanks for great work. I'll be checking this theme everyday for new updates.

Concerning the setting of mimetypes automatically: this has been driving me nuts, too!! As far as I can tell, it is done simply through the naming of the various icon images - some distros like to have different names for various things, I think. Similarly, I think Mandrake picks up on different image types but SuSE (which I use) does not...requiring that to be done manually.
I would echo your request: if anyone knows of (or can write) a guide to this aspect of KDE customisation, I for one would be extremely grateful!
Thanks again for the comments...I'm working on updates!

A number of people have commented that they think the folders are 'out of style' with the rest of the theme (obviously, I'm quite fond of them myself!) I am therefore doing a new style for these in the next update (coming soon) which will, I hope, be more in keeping with the 'soft' photorealism of the other icons.
If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions as to what sort of thing they would like to see, now is the time to let me know!
