Nice icons, but here none indicating wind, storm, etc
Hmm...when I made this set of icons, none of the sets I looked at had those. So I concluded kweather did not support them, I might be mistaken, though.
Yes, wel I use your icons for my weather website in the Netherlands (www.hetweerinalkmaar.nl) and sometimes when a storm is predicted I have to improvise.
Ah, I see. You could create simple overlay texts (in Dutch if you prefer) for "special" weather conditions (like storm, windy, icy), that you could add to the general weather condition icons as necessary. I'll take it into consideration to add something of the sort to the set if I decide to update the icon set for KDE4.
This set of weather icons is best set of weather icons that I have seen. Also they look great on back styled kicker - like in windows vista.
They look very good, and are easier to identify than the default icons. Thanks for the nice theme!
I like these, they are simple, not flashy...and very nice. Although, I didn't identify 'hail' - I thought it was mix of rain & snow...
Thanks, I tried to make them identifiable even in smaller sizes. There are many gorgeous icon sets available, but most were too detailed for my small panel :) As for the 'hail', if you know of a better symbol for it, let me know. Hail is 'icy rain' or 'pellet rain'...and I decided to mark it with two raindrops and one snowflake (that isn't entirely accurate, but distinguishes it from sleet, aka 'wet snow', which is depicted with two snowflakes and one raindrop)...but as I said, if you can come up with a better symbol for it, I'd be happy to edit the current one or add an alternative for it.
Why not glassy spheres? That's how hail around here looks sometimes?
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried spheres first, but they weren't distinguishable enough (looked too much like raindrops on smaller sizes), but I created an icon with sort of 'ice cubes' that I put up as 'screenshot3'...so you can download the image and save it as hail.png if you like it. I'll include the new hail icon in 1.2 version, but I wish to touch up a few icons for that version as well. :)
I agree with the first comment. You could maybe draw tiny ice cubes or somethign for hail. That's all I can think of.
aww crap. I didn't see your updated comment until I posted mine. :\
